A not so successful attempt to do a light study on the effect of different light directions on a portrait. But certainly a very useful exercise to do. The character of the person changes drastically depending on the light source. To know how to paint the correct light and shadows it will depend heavily on the knowledge of perspective and anatomy.
Good 5 hours practice and would certainly do again
