This song is unrefined and has abundant mixing problems that I only sort of masked through a cheap mastering attempt (the waveform looks appalling), but while my technical abilities aren't exactly being showcased here, I feel that the underlying composition shines through quite well.

This was pretty standard Trance fare that I thought could use a lot of improvement. The mixing is passable, other than it being slightly hot, and the song never really developed much melodically.

Unce unce unce unceunceunce unce unce unce....

I like what you did with this, everything more or less sounds nice, and it sounds pretty well mixed (Save a thing here and there), and while not really overly original, it was different enough to keep me interested.

Complaints... It's horrendously repetitive, aside from the section at about 2:20... the entire song is practically the same thing with slight variations, and those variations aren't enough to make it feel like the song was progressing at all. I also think the kick was a tad bit too loud as it tended to drown out a lot of the quieter synths.
I also have an issue with reverb in this one, most notably on the "lead synth", which is most noticeable in the "slow section" at 2:20, I think the reverb and delay should have maybe been turned down just a hair.

That said, I like what was there, but the overly repetitive nature of the track really killed it for me. 5/10.

a pretty promizing one, i thought you were gone >.> didn't see you for a while, have you other portals or website ?

This is an NGADM Round 1 Review.

This and FairSquare's seem to be the only two WiP tracks submitted this round, but unlike FairSquare's, yours feels much more complete, despite needing a fair amount of tweaking. The composition here is fantastic as well, which boosted up the score by a good amount. So yeah, for a WiP, not bad at all!

For starters, I love the melodies here. Extremely catchy, and the progression of your main melody is excellent. The melodies have a lot of energy to them and are very well-made overall. Another great aspect of your composition is the intro. While it wasn't very revolutionary at all, since it's just a sweep that leads up to a generic kick and hat beat, when the pad and higher instrument come in at 0:16, I was already able to tell that I was going to enjoy this. The intro is very gradual and you introduce more and more elements as the track progresses, which, as usual, works very well. The introduction of the main melody at 1:23 is also awesome, and while I'm curious why at that point you took away nearly all the elements of the track that you took all that time to build up beforehand, it still works fine.

Transitions are on the whole impressive, especially the one at 2:16. Great ambient section that comes later on, too, and again, the transition at around 3:30 was great. I love how subtle the introductions of each melody are. The only transition which feels incredibly bland is the transition at 5:17. Over there the two sections just feel awkwardly combined together. Pretty good ending, and ending the whole song with that descending effect you used somewhere in the intro too was a nice touch, but I do feel that the ending was too abrupt, most likely because the final note really wasn't very satisfying.

Unfortunately, while this feels like a complete song, at the same time there are aspects which seem rushed or unfinished, as you undoubtedly already know. The mixing isn't very good; I could tell the waveform was brickwalling like crazy without even looking at it. There are compression issues when the track reaches high points in build-ups. The drums are unimpressive, being just basic techno drums that occasionally even drown out other elements of the track. The bad mixing unfortunately also makes intense parts such as the one at 4:23 sound disappointingly anti-climatic and forced. While you've got superb compositional ideas, they're currently not conveyed well enough and sound pretty bland. The track also gets quite repetitive at times.

Composition-wise, you've nailed it. But due to the strict time constraints, this track does need a bit more work before it can really reach its full potential. Also please give me some tips on how to get this melody out of my head.

SCORE:
7.5/10

Here is your personal review for your round 1 submission! Remember that the score might be a little lower than I would normally give, I'm being a tad harsher than I'd normally be for the NGADM.

The Good:
-I love all your spacey effects and instruments, I'm really a sucker for that kind of thing.
-The drums are great.
-The middle section where things calm down is really nice, would be great if it were a bit calmer and quieter, though that's not strictly necessary.
-Hey, I'm no mixing master, but it seemed to be mixed fine to me overall. No clipping I can hear or anything.
-Okay, your transitions are REALLY nice. I normally don't comment on this unless they're bad, so that's a giant thumbs-up from me.

The Not-So-Good:
-Overall, the song is pretty much the same kind of thing the whole way through. Spacey trance. Unfortunately, that takes priority over a lot. This could have been more well-composed.
-Not really much bass at all, though I'm guessing you did that to leave the kick a nice buffer for mixing purposes. Or I could just be taking a random guess. But honestly, there really could be a more audible bass like what I hear in the beginning, it's pretty much drowned out the whole way through.
-Occasionally the kick seems 'delayed' from the sample, which gives me a weird off-beat feel that doesn't fit with the style of song.

Overall: I liked this, but the lack of a good bass and the repetitiveness of it does hurt the song. It is a very nice song though, so if you improved the mixing a bit and introduced more variation in the feel and ideas of your music, you'd have some really good stuff on your hands. I'll give this a 7/10.
