Name me 10 real death metal bands you prick.

And your not a real metalhead just cause you like Metallica. I know more than 300 bands, just don't test Death Metal fans cause they obviously know more about music than you will ever do.

I dare you, name me 10 death metal bands. Real bands, like Technical Brutal Death Metal, and than we'll see. Fuckin noob

see this is what i mean. you are so hotheaded that you just blockout what any other person that has a different view on music says. your the kind of person that has been ruining music all these years. and did i say i just like metallica??? no theres slayer , iron maiden, megadeth, def leppard, zeppelin. and YES those ARE metal bands. and i know more about any death metal head. because i actually listen to other genres BESIDES death metal/tech/black. i ABSOLUTELY HATE those pricks that dont even LISTEN to other bands and say theyre horrible

see? I never said any of your bands sucks. You should check my last.fm profile, I'm really into many genres and sub-genres of music.

In fact I got angry because of your useless reference to Death Metal bands.
And I am not ruining music at all, I love listenning to every genre of music and I never judge without listenning to an artist.

I must also mention that I never ever did say that your music was shit in my post.

The fact is that I love to have discussions with people who have different views on music from mine.
I hate people who judge and just randomly bash fans of a sub-genre for no reason. How are we any different form any other fans?

I would say that every progressive rock band from the early 1970's is indescribably underrated.

I'm curious, and I'm not insulting your taste in music or anything of the sort, but what do you see of value in death metal?

Useless topic considering every band that is any good is underrated because any band that is even remotely good doesn't get the commercial respect it deserves.

Fast Tempo and a lot of variations in the tempos and riffs. The song structure are really progressive but still very agressive and surprising.

To be honest I'm more into Technical Brutal Death Metal. It combines great speed, energy, technicality and agressivity. There is also a large range of different types of vocals that can be found in that genre.
Even though it may sound like random screaming. Screams and growls are really hard to perfom and if done well, can sound particularly well.

It's a genre of music that is really hard to understand, but if you take the time and get used to it, you'll realise it's a gold mine. You still have to find the good bands though. Cause there is a lot of shitty bands in Death Metal, like in any other music genres. These, make the whole scene, look really bad.

Also, here's a few songs I really like :)

Laser Lobotomy by Blotted Science
Forsaken by Benighted
Winds Of Creation by Decapitated
Extreme Unction by Necrophagist

You should really listen to Blotted Science. I think that anyone, interredted in Metal or not, could really love this band.

You could check some stuff by Origin also, but if your not used to Brutal Death, you shouldn't cause their music is really hard to understand even for a guy like me... and I've been into metal for more than 5 years now.

It's really nice that you asked me the question. A lot of people just wouldn't try to understand. I really like people like you :)

Also, M83's old stuff is underrated. As well as some Gorillaz songs.

whats so funny about him. oh it must be his 45 minute long drum solos or his solos with four drumsticks or two baseball bats.

I'm sorry for I have missjudged you two.
But you shouldn't compare death metal fans to Slipknot fans...
Slipknot is Nu-Metal and their fan base is higly constituted of angry teenagers...
These kids will go around saying Mick Thomson is the best guitarist... and say "fuck you" to anything that isn't fitting their tastes.... which are really limited to Slipknot and nothing else.

I may understand why you hate Underground Metal fans. It's true that there is a lot of elitism in the metal fans universe.

I really made an angry post at first, and I'm sorry for that.

We Are Scientists have that cool vibe going on, but only a few people seem to notice it.

I think they deserve to be as popular as Fall Out Boy, they're more talented, more handsome and have better personalities.

Might as well post some more motherfuckers in this dirty slut.

Today is the Day is one of the few really aggressive bands on the American metal scene these days that can also be, y'know, close to musical. All this annoying deathcore shit is getting old.

Swans don't get nearly enough recognition, which is sad since there's a little bit of everything in their discog (folk, noise, post-rock, even some vaguely dubby stuff).

St. Vincent. Annie Clark is a guitar genius and the arrangements on like every song she's ever written are excellent. Actor is a fifty thousand levels of brilliant and probably the best album I've heard this year.

Raymond Scott. Early electronica (50s, 60s), made his own instruments, wrote some bafflingly creepy tunes.

These bands all range from pretty famous to extremely famous. Also, in what horrible, twisted alternate universe are the B-52's a punk band?

Anyways, most of the music I listen to is obscure and underrated, as is probably the case with anyone who listens mostly to indie stuff, buuut just a few obscure artists that I think deserve to get some recognition and that most of NG has probably never heard of are:

Born Ruffians
The Ghost is Dancing
The Cat Empire
Patent Pending
Dr. Dog
Death From Above 1979 (are they obscure?)
Man Man

And so on and so forth...
