Ad-Block banner ad's

For those who have not yet discovered the awesomeness of ad-blocker, or who enjoy being constantly pestered for some sick, sadistic reason, here are the banner ads that Tom put up because he is a total fucking dick (but honestly I'm not going to pay attention to them at all, and the main reason I don't click on ads is because I would prefer not to get a shitload of spyware and buy 9000 things to get a 'free' Wii). Also, Tom, there is still an option to adblock the images and frames from appearing. I could just right click on each image and select that option and your brilliant plan will fail miserably. Also the main purpose of Ad blocker is to filter out annoying ads from OTHER websites. Nobody cares if you promote your own website seeing as we are already using it o_o. Anyways,

I think you are overestimating how much ads generate per user. At most, I'd generate maybe $1-2 a month, which I would have no problem donating on a monthly basis.

Yes it does. Newgrounds hardly profit from the store AFAIK. If we assume you watch 5 flash a day at 5MB each and you're a member for one year. That's 25MB a day, mulitplied by 365 that's almost 10GB of data, so Newgrounds pay for 10GB of bandwidth for you to watch flash,

10GB on a dedicated server is only about 15-20 cents. Clearly you have never run a website before. If I spend $20 in the store, that would be enough to pay for the bandwidth I use per year.

Newgrounds makes money through the ads. By blocking them, your pretty much saying, "Fuck you Tom, no money for you." Not to mention the ads arn't even that big and are off to the top or the side of the page, so it's kinda hard to notice them once you have been here awhile. Also, I found one of my favorite sites (MangaFox) through the newgrounds ads, so they arn't all bad. Also also, I think the Ad block banner ads are pretty funny.

I am almost completely positive that NG gets paid for how much people visit the site and/or click the ads. So they still get paid even if I use ad block.

You can block those too if by adding a filter for newgrounds.com/promo Those flash ads for lame RPGs are simply distracting and annoying and besides, can't disable it and restart Firefox every time you want to go on newgrounds.

you can just whitelist this to stop the new ad's from showing up.

Also there is a tool to block Iframes and the like, go here.

once installed you can use ctrl+shift+k to select any page element and block it. You can also access adblocks element list by hitting ctrl+shift+v. The more you know.

then quit going to newgrounds. The ads and the people who support them are what's keeping this site alive. Without that, you won't have your 4 year old 6000+ post account and there won't be any flash or audio portals for people to post creative stuff and make a few bucks off of it.
