READ THIS WHOLE POST OR RISK GETTING YOURSELF BANNED
As usual, mods will be combing through the thread deleting posts which breach the rules that will be outlined further on.
Just as when 36Holla held a midyear awards last year, the purpose of these awards are to help people in December to recall who did what around the BBS in the first half of the year, and prevent excellent potential nominees who are active and well known now from being forgotten by the end of the year.
DA RULES
- Keep all discussion of the awards in the appropriate discussion thread here. However, don't post any comments begging for votes or bitching that you haven't been nominated, they will be deleted and you may well get banned.
- Fill in every category, or at least as many as possible (75% at least, or else risk your post being deleted), making it very clear which category you are nominating your pick for, the vote counters have a tough enough job trawling through posts, and might ignore yours if you are unclear. If you really can't think of any, just put N/A (Dobio was the default but he's back now, so posting his name may cause confusion).
- YOUR FIRST POST IS YOUR LAST POST. This is the reason you should fill in all categories; 5 minutes after you post you may have a flash of inspiration but it'll be too late, and posting more than once will not be acceptable.
- DO. NOT. NOMINATE. YOURSELF. All your votes will be scrapped and your post deleted. Don't massvote with alts either, lest you be exposed (and probably banned) by the mods because of your desperation to win an internet award.
- While you should vote for someone who has a genuine chance of making the finals, if someone is a sure-fire bet to get through as they have dozens of nominations already, consider nominating someone else. Every vote counts, and they may appreciate the nomination :)
OTHER DETAILS
- This is symbolic, and a bit of fun. Don't take it too seriously if you don't get nominated.
- If you need to contact me, leave a comment on my userpage, don't PM me if possible, only if urgent.
- These nominations are for what has happened between January 09 and now, disregard previous award results and users who are no longer active (apart from the I Miss Yew category of course).
- The nomination thread will be locked sometime on Wednesday afternoon, or if the thread becomes inactive before then. The nominations will be tallied and the Top 5 for each category will qualify for the finals. The voting thread for the finalists will be posted up sometime next week, depending on how quickly the votes are counted.
- Any tie breaks will be broken by a random number generator, those who lose out will receive honourable mentions.
