That's more than what I'm aiming. Well, only 100 less but I did slack off here and there (plus a few trips). Still, if I can reach it so I've made 3,000 this month, I'll be happy. Just need to make at least 140 tomorrow.

There we go, I've hit 15,000 icons. I'm hoping to reach 20k before Christmas so I'll see how things go from here until then. Making over 700 on a weekly basis will do the trick.
Also, it turns out there was a few missing gaps in the holidays collections. I was going through some SS/KK authors and they had some submissions in Christmas 2006 that Tom never brought up here, haha. I know he's skipped these particular authors on purpose. You're all lucky that I'm the one who's willing covering them.
Although I draw the line at Madness, lol.
Yeah I have been skipping the lowest scoring stuff in some of the collections - we'll scrape that barrel when we run out of everything else, unless you preemptively scrape it all. :)

To be honest, I don't think my pace will change next month except for the odd day when I'm away. You can go for it if you want but I get the feeling Travis is about to drop. :P
At 11/1/11 12:04 AM, Travis wrote: That's the end of the month... if my math is right, then I started the month out at 1455 icons. I ended the month at 4528 icons.
That's a total of 3073 icons.
You did well. My total was 3,071. Roughly equal there and I would have done more last night had it not been for my piece of shit laptop crashing twice. If this continues, my icon modding duties will be horribly interrupted by it.
So Tom, how goes the total for October?
Porn.

Uhh, not sure what to make of this.

The redesign has been done since April, we're just waiting until we can browse it without a bunch of blank icons everywhere.

Just kidding. :)
The redesign gets better and better with more thumbnails filled in, but we'll still launch it as soon as it's ready.

Actually, Wade told me on Twitter you're all waiting for me to finish every last thumbnail.
No love for Travis.
At the start of the charity drive, we had 199,582 submissions on NG and 106,023 thumbnails.
As of today we have 200,794 submissions and 115,772 thumbnails.
9,749 thumbnails - 1212 from new submissions = 8,537 thumbnails for existing submissions.
x 0.05 = $426.85 for charity!
Sitewide 140x90 thumbnails are 57.6% complete. But it's generally the better 57.6% so that's good. :)
At 11/1/11 02:17 PM, Travis wrote: Lol, hey I only got 4000 something. You are 15000 icon man. I can't compete with that right now lol.
ONLY 4,000? That's a lot more than what the majority of icon mods ever did. Within a short time, you've impressed me. :)
Either way... I am probably going to take a few days off from icons because that was a month of charitable hell.
I don't blame you. I'm just glad I have a live show to see on Saturday so I can take a small break then.
At 11/1/11 02:25 PM, Zendra wrote: Hehe, I just imagined that you guys would release a copy of the website, except bigger icons with and one newspost explaining: "In ur tankz, waitin for iconz."
Hey, that's an idea for the next maintenance. :P

Now that is most excellent. I'm happy to know that at least $150 was from my contributions. I hope Child's Play invest that money well!
I just sent a query about sponsorship tiers, so I'll likely round the amount up to put us on the official sponsors listing - I think we should be close!
On another light note, I took care of all those Star Syndicate authors. There may be the odd one missing but everyone who were featured on their collection pages are in the bag.
Next up: Glock Group?

Pfft, I can go for Kitty Krew and they never had a collection page for themselves. Infact, I actually picked up some of them when going through Daily Day pages and they're actually quite a breeze to go through since most of their submissions are really short.
At 11/1/11 11:57 PM, FBIpolux wrote: Are you seriouuuus? So many submissions left without icons? Now I just feel really worse for not having made any icons in the past months...
You better. We won't have a redesign until we're all done. Kidding aside, real life circumstances are excused.

There's still a part of me that wants to run a script that deletes everything with a score under 1.75 and less than 2000 views... I guess it would have been a good idea to do that BEFORE trying to make thumbnails for everything. :P
You could take a chunk out of the remaining lists and then tackle either Glock Group or Kitty Krew if that works, or just take on the crews... Everything movies us towards thumbnails being done. :)

I really would love to get some work done but now I do need to send off my laptop to get it repaired. I'm told it could take 2-3 days to sort it out so that's not all that bad.

That's completely insane. I've probably done less than 150 icons altogether. How do you guys do it?

We may as well have more stuff to do.
On reading your news post I thought you said the charity event was over, but on reading it again I think I might've misunderstood.
So we're still doing icons for charity then? I'll start working on them again as soon as I get home.

I was tempted to run the event through November but since then I bumped up the donation amount so the charity portion is officially closed. More icons are always good though. :)

Oh that's too bad, but I'll do some icons anyway.
I hope you'll run another event like this someday. Again, I would love to participate next time.

Finished up this one for you.
I wish I could help, I have nothing better to do.
I already have shown tom my application, he said the quality was too high, so I can turn the quality down to around what he wants.

With an image software with a manageable quality setting, this shouldn't be a problem. Hopefully you're given a second chance. As for my current status on icon modding, laptop is still MIA so I can't return just yet. It was meant to be done no later than Friday. :(
At 11/10/11 02:26 PM, Travis wrote: Starting Sunday, I should be ready to start back up.
I'm already back on my feet. Well, I'll be on another short trip but my laptop hasn't crashed today and it's all thanks to avoiding Firefox. Sucks I have to avoid Firefox since I was using it to go through all the oldest submissions. Clicking on an author's userpage once keeps it appeared as clicked. Chrome doesn't seem to do that so it'll be very tricky from now on. Hopefully by the time everything from the first 90,000 submissions is covered we'll have our long awaited redesign.
