Ut'99 Remix Project Signup Thread.

As the thread title says, this is the sign-up thread for mine and La-yinn's Unreal Tournament remix project.

This thread basically serves as an interest / recruitment thread for the project.

So, let's get down to it, shall we?

Unreal Tournament (1999) had some of the best music I had ever heard and it still stands in terms of quality and originality compared to many other more modern games that have all gone towards the Hollywood movie sound (and sometimes it is even composed by big time moviecomposers.)

This project will simply be a remixing of the entire Unreal Tournament score, including bot-pack and any other official add-on music. If interest in the project is big enough (25+ participants), even the original Unreal score will be included for remixing purposes.

The project will be a TOTAL remix. That means it is only done when EVERY single song from the game(s) have been remixed. The final product will be torrented (aswell as direct downloadable if possible) and participants are strongly urged to help in the seeding but this is quite far away right now.

Signing up is not as easy as writing "oh hai thar, i liek ur projektz lol here are mine super ultra remix of teh gaem" and subsequent midi/s3m rips from the game with altered instruments. No, a WIP will be required but standards are ofcourse not rediculously high or anything. Just make a short WIP of up to 30 secs and you'll probably be accepted. Lots of great talent here on NG so I have no worries about the quality.

Yes, this is the signup thread as previously stated, but its more to see how interested NG is in this idea at the moment.

If enough people want to do this, WIP's will start rolling in, I imagine.

Final note: I'll post the specific rules of the project in a separate thread once I've confirmed enough people for it (10+) but one I can say right now is: No more than two songs per person and only one remix per song. The first one to submit a WIP for the song of his choosing gets it, unless his WIP sucked or something, which I doubt.
Who wants in?

Ah, great to see you've brought it to public. That's right, I'm taking the track 'Run' for this project. Been having some nice results with it so far. ;)

I'll volunteer to fill up any empty spaces, but I'm hoping we can get a lot of people together on this one. There are a lot of tracks to go around, so everybody join in the remixing fun!

Also, apple pie for everybody who makes a brilliant remix.

SO GET TO IT.

>:D

Hey, I would LOVE to be part of this project. I used to design maps for a Monster Hunt Server and all I would listen to would be the UT 99 music while doing it. It's been like 6 years since I've even heard the music, so I had to download the music again to refresh my memory.

Anyway I would like to try my hand at either Godown or Colossus.

I'll get to work on a WIP, but if you need reference material I do VG covers a lot.

I've always wanted a reason to do Unreal Tournament music. And now I have one :D

Oh, and also I wanted to extend my guitar ability to anyone who needs anything recorded with a live electric guitar. I know there are a couple songs that are pretty guitar-oriented, and maybe you'd want something a little more... realistic then a synth with distortion on it.

Allright, this newspost now has a tracklisting with youtube links to every original song and who composed it. Go have a listen, find one you like, make a WIP and send it on over.

Also, Newgrounds has a one week headstart so I can get some NG people in on this before I unleash it at OCRemix.

Just a reminder and bump: This project goes public and official at OCRemix on Monday (6th September).

So get a WIP going for a song you like asap. Want atleast a 1:1 ratio of NG to OCR artists on this. Preferably more on the NG side since OCR has enough brilliant projects under their belt and I feel we can do some awesome shit if we organize and work together on it.

On Monday I will open this project up to sites outside of NG (OCRemix primarily). Just a heads up. Still a couple of days left to squeeze out a short 20-30 sec WIP of a track you like.
