Hello! I was recently accepted (by a freak miracle) into the Tacoma School Of The Arts. I thought it would be good if I could share my projects and doodles with you fine people. It would be fantastic if I could have your comments and criticism for what I post. I apologize in advance for any grammar errors I may/will/already did make.

my scanner is not working so I am improvising with my camera, this is why quality sucks.

I drew this about an hour ago, it is my eye. I did this drawing while looking in the mirror. I wish I had an eraser to make some stronger glare on the iris.

Also, a sea monster I drew with a friend I did alot of the shading and the eyes and a bit of the background.

It looks great, but you might want to try looking up some tutorials on proper colored pencil shading. The picture also looks like it needs some help with proper documenting, art101 has a nice tutorial on their newspage: http://art101.newgrounds.com/news/post/3 14936

That's really great! I am learning already! Well I went ahead and documented the sea monster picture and I am happy about the results. Thank you so much! I also bookmarked a page with pencil techniques. Here is where the eye picture is located. http://www.newgrounds.com/dump/item/3126 c385f48a410769a1d764ac0ac7cc

Hey thanks! I should tightly swirl all my pencil shades from now on.

Alright, time to get you guys up to speed, here are all my not complete shit doodle from the last month

-this one was made as one of those split personality type things, one side is sharp and robotic, the other more organic pic

I'd say that you're relying on shading too much - while it is good, it doesn't hide the wonky lineart. And it is fairly wonky, and for a mechanical piece like the rook it really, really shows. I'd say to build up your sketches, and work on your straight lines in order to eliminate this wonkiness.

Otherwise, not too bad, for a sketch.

Okay, I will work on my lineart. It is always really hard for me to draw something as I see it in my eyes. The lines are just a bit off. I think it is not my straight lines that need help, I think I need to work on my curves, or just in general making things appear the same size and length, anyone have any good ideas for exercises on that?

Here is a sketch of a big ass robot.

And a robot/human mix thing.

Bah, Photoshop, Fireworks, and Illustrator all piss me off. I try to use them and I get a terrible feeling. I think I need to take a break from visual art for the next day or so. I feel so insignificant. There are millions of people much younger than me doing things in minutes that I couldn't do in weeks.

I guess I can share my madness day '10 submission with y'all. Sorry about the whole "BAWWW I SUCK AT ART" thing, sometimes it is nice to let it out to a public forum.

Well, I sat down and got depressed for about an hour... then I came up with a great idea! I would take a picture of something. then look at the picture as if it were the subject. So I can still look at a reference while I drew. Here is the original picture of my hand. Then below is the drawing I made of the picture. It was better but then I started blending and it blurred up all my details.

Also please not that my lighting of my photos are not perfect, nor is my camera. I still can't get a hold of making every line appear as it does in my eyes, I will keep on trying as you good folks give me comments/critisism/whatever. I really really appreciate your comments, each one gives me bounds of motivation. I really love any tips you would have to share also.

I was talking with a friend of mine about all this picture roleplaying going on. I realized that I never even drew a picture of myself digitally. Here is a god awful picture I made. It took about 10 minutes, I can't get the shape of my face quite right. Oh well.

Hey, sorry for this bump, I might as well keep posting my work, again, I greatly appreciate any help any can give me. I will listen to what you have to say and try my darnedest to apply it.

Here is a sketch of a hand, anyone have anything to say about the proportions? I think the fingers are a little pudgy.

Here is a still life of a pencil sharpener.

Well, it is pretty disappointing to see so little people replying, maybe I am just not the type of artist to get his own thread. Okay, so I sketched some noses and lips.( I will stop cropping the pictures and editing the contrast from now on, seems like too much work)

I then tried (and failed) at applying the sketches into a full face. the reference picture is here. I need to work on faces I guess, as you can see at the image below:
Welp, I guess I am going to stop talking to myself now and settle for Deviant art or something.

So Deviant Art sucks. I like it here better, regardless of whether you post or not I am happy to notice that someone or another might read this. I really love your thoughts! You people havve the most succulent and delicious thoughts. They taste like strawberries.

This one I drew from memory with an HB pencil in math class. I even put this one on the art portal! My goal is to get good enough for someone to scout me. Do you think I am close? Or do I have some way to go?

I think you would be good enough, your only problem is that you have many pieces that you don't spent much time on. If you put as much effort in all of your pieces as you have in this eye, you would be scouted in no time. I can't give much more of an advice than that.

The eye looks great of course.

Thank you! I will be sure to spend more time with my next picture. I say I draw a picture of my cat... If only I could get the little dude to stand still!

I feel like I did three years ago when I was trying to get a submission through the flash portal... Good times...

Sorry to leave you guys hanging, I have not tried to make any serious drawings. I have been a bit busy, I think this is a good place to show my shirt designs, non? I will be producing this one soon, what would you pay for this design on a shirt? I am currently selling them (locally) for $8 and I wonder if people would be willing to pay that.
