Looks good, but I won't say to much about it because it is unfinished. You should do what I've been doing lately, I've just been cruising my Sketchbook and taking all of my unfinished work and finishing it. You get a little more satisfaction then usual and what artist's doesn't need growth?

Apparently I only know how to post one picture at a time, I hope constant posting on this is the right way to do it. Anyways the previous image is a character named Elliot she is the ex girlfriend of James they are main characters to a short animation I'm working on right now and these are some of the sketched still shots of them, oh and the image in this post is James.

Haha yeah that is a good idea, I think it's just the matter of sitting down and just staying strong on the same subject for a long period of time.

Most users post pictures one after another, you can only post one picture with each post. Trust me my art thread has about 4 or 5 posts in the row just from me posting new pieces(it would be nice from some feedback to break it up but what can you do this place is a fucking popularity contest sometimes).

But yea I've been in that boat before, but you gotta push yourself. It's amazing how much more growth you experience when you force yourself to do something you might not want to do or might not be comfortable with doing. I think it would overall just better your art and you might get more responses with complete work then with unfinished work.

all Sketchpad is so good lioking. now try to make it on illustrator or Photoshop. It'll be more attractive.

Be careful when you do the clean lineart. Some of the lines are a bit too straight, making them sharp and jagged. You want to smooth those lines out, introduce some curves.

Thanks for the advice, after you mentioned it I started to notice some of those spots, thanks for the tip! It's just easy to leave lines straight and forget about them lol

I like that there is something distinct about your work

That's the kind of thing that makes it easier to recognize an artist.

I for one have always appreciated a fresh, intriguing perspective on anatomy and structure over rigidly precise representations.

I have been messing around with trying to create a cartoon style that is somehow unique and has the power to stand out, I think I'm on to something now and thanks for your imput it helps! (4 years ago I drew generic anime lol)

This is the finished sketch from above, I'll upload it to my account sometime later today.

They just seemed ok at first, but progressively, they keep looking better and clean up very well.

Best of luck to you.

for that viola/violin, his hand is way off and i would suggest just using a refrence for that
and the bow is above the fingerboard

Response to Retrosleeps Sketchpad Oct 6, 2011

Yeah I see what you mean, I was just trying to do it off the top of my head and started to struggle on it. Generally try to do it from memory first than go for the reference.

You could say I missed pretty hard on most of that pose.

The Bow is suppose to be angled string towards Violin with the piece you hold closer to the camera, I should move the string closer to the bow.

Update.

Here are some sketches of a android who can transform into a battle-suit. Nothing to original just practice.
I finished the first sketch and uploaded it onto my ng page. I have gotten some comments about the face being funky. I have taken notice.

Oh and yes her eyes are big ovular pixels.
