Hype tracks help in a lot of ways actually. For one, it helps Red gauge skill levels for bracket seeding. Also, it gives everyone a preview of your sound, so it's a good starting point for researching your opponent. It also shows that you are capable of making music and somewhat serious about participating, instead of some random troll "signing on" and screwing up a round one battle.
They are always a good idea, plus they are fun as shit to make. I'm in the middle of writing mine now as a matter of fact, and nobody is safe. All y'all fools are getting thrown in my lyrical volcano, sons.
