Construct 3 Jam Deadline Extended!

This past two weeks we've been hosting a Construct 3 Jam to celebrate Construct 3 nearing the end of beta.

Construct 3 is a web-based game development platform that lets you make games for various platforms, with no prior programming experience required!

Unfortunately we had a little mishap last night - the free full-feature period ended four hours before the jam deadline and people who were working down to the wire weren't able to finish their games.

Full features are once again unlocked and the deadline has been extended until 7am EST on May 30th (Tuesday morning).

The free trial period has also been extended until Saturday, so everyone is welcome to keep trying the full features of Construct 3 this week!

If you've made a game that has full touch support and can work on phones, under your project details click the "Edit Properties" link by your zip file and check the box for "Touchscreen friendly" - getting featured on our mobile layout will get you lots more plays!

Another note: If you've created a Newgrounds account and aren't receiving a confirmation email (check your spam folder first), you can PM me and I'll validate. We had a few people creating accounts at the last minute to submit their games, only to run into that issue.

The C3 Jam has had a tremendous response, with over 100 entries! It would be extremely helpful if everyone could play as many games as possible while voting and even writing reviews. A lot of entrants are first time game developers so be nice - try to give as much constructive feedback as possible! Construct 3 will only be getting better and better and it would be great to see this community thrive.

If you missed the jam, take a look at Construct 3 this week! It works in your browser so there is nothing to install. Games can be exported for PC, mobile and even Xbox One.

BLU - Fast paced stragety platformer with enemy bots

You have 3 minutes to fight off 3 bots and color the arena BLU. As you run, you lose ink (the source of your power). Stop to regenerate your ink.
Run, jump and hit blocks with your head to color them. Pickup awesome powerups to slow down time, freeze & kill bots & regenerate faster. Use the weapon powerup to shoot lazer beams!
There are penalites for getting killed or letting the bots color the arena in RED! Choose your next step wisely, but quickly.
Supports Gamepad. Tested with XBOX 360 controller.

Technical notes:
Platformer Pathfinding - Uses Dijkstra's shortest path algorithm for creating a node graph enabling bot to find path and navigate to different platforms
Dynamic camera pan/zoom - Camera pans across & zooms in/out by calculating relative positions of all active points on the arena.

Over a hundred entries, fuck. Since the total votes needed to clear judgement got reduced a few years ago, things more or less got stabilized in the Portal, but this is certainly a massive ass turnout, unexpected. Maybe a double XP day, right after the event's closed, would motivate our members into promiscuously voting, or would that be overkill?

Hope all the Jammers can be patient while we get these submissions played and voted on.

Your game is in the collection, it is just moving slowly through the judgment phase due to the number of new releases over the weekend. The community has to play and vote on all of the games to move them through.

I made my game in C2 and went to C3 to export. Only in Newgrounds did not run in C3 at all! So I had to send it as C2, to see if it worked and worked. Now I've been able to fix it and it's running on C3. I uploaded the project before the deadline but only now it worked as C3. Is the game still good for jam?

You can upload bug fixes. You can make them to the existing project - click the red pencil in the top right corner to go to your project details, where you can replace the existing ZIP file.

Hey Tom, I love this feature and played some of the games this way. It's a blast to finally play Newground's games while on the go. Hope to see EVERYTHING converted to touch haha.
One small side note: It seems that the security that's in place to avoid voting without seeing the upload prevents me from voting while on mobile.
It opens it in a new url in the same window and when I go back it's like I didn't play the game.

We're gonna ditch that forced delay in the new layout and voting itself will be getting a new front end when we switch over to the new voting system that merges voting and review scores as a single score. Everything there should be fixed and function much better after the change.
