This seems to be perfect. By looking at it from different angles, I'd say it is perfect for newbie flash users who ran out of time in their 30 day trial or who haven't started. They should learn how to draw using this and then use up the 30 day trial to learn actionscript.
Mh, KoolMoves .. very different in usability and structure (compared to flash).
Oh, and if you use scenes and some other things... they will get lost if you can only export to swf.

Since you are not a student anymore (your profile...) you cant get the cheap education licence, but Flash MX (not MX 2004) should work just right for you:
Here it costs about 60-90 dollars or something.

Yes, but what for? Even the big Edu license packs will cost 40-70 per licence.
I am mainly doing Stopmotion movies, and Cartooning would just be a chapter we would do for a few hours :-)
Plus I have more budget available for clay, paper, and other materials.

Thanks for the info. I went to check it out, and I picked up a copy of Flash MX 2004 Studio for just under $80. Now, I just have to learn how to use it.
Cool. But like i said, this is not Studio MX 2004, its Studio MX.
But a great deal, since MX is still more powerfull then other Flash programms (also in actionscripting), and the package contaisn so much more..
http://www.quiss.org/swftools/ has a SWF Combiner by the way, this will enable you to use liteswif and "stick" some preloader to it. For example, you can make a loader with kool moves or use one of mine:

These free tools will enable you to add a preloader to an existing SWF movie, it will enable you to turn a series of pictures into a flash movie, and much, much more!
So if you made a movie, for example with the free liveswif.com lite, you can simply add one of my preloaders, since you cant do action scripting with it.
You will need to use the one with the same fps (frames per second) play speed, since the first movie will define the final movie playing speed.

its real easy, really.
Go to START->RUN and type in CMD, which will open a dos box.
Now type in cd c:\program files\swftools\ or whereever you have placed the swftools ;-)
Also copy your Flash files into there which you want to combine!
Now type
swfcombine -t loader-20fps.swf yourmovie.swf
( -t means that no movie is master/slave, so both movies will be put in as movieclips equally. if you are currious about that, just look it up on the site of swftools...)
So now you have your movie flash with a preloader... even without using macromedia flash!

Got it in .net magazine issue 127...Kool Moves...completly sucks!!!!! the Gifs are never Transparent and the thing is laggy as hell! the files are huge and u cant do jack without paying 39.99 for it.
