Last weeks winner: SirHappy666! Great job!

I didn't explain further what the topic is about this week, because I figured you get what this one is about anyways, and you get to do your own interpretation of the topic poisonous.

At the end of the week there will be be voting! This means I, or someone who I choose thats up for it, will create a topic where everybody can decide a winner for this weeks c.o.w. Let me know if your interested in doing voting-threads!

Ok, that's all for now, good luck! ;)

Well done Sir Happy!

I was thinking of some sort of bug, with a bag on it's back with toxic smoke coming out. I'll probably do some sketches of that but I've also got another idea in mind, I want to start putting in more detail though, and complicating the creature so it looks less like anything else that already exists.

I would volunteer but I think I'm going to be in Paris next week, not sure yet though.

It would be great if you could help me out, since you've been around for most COWs. If the person who helps me is not able to post, then I can always hold the voting for one week or two.

I'm sure someone else will be up for it.

This is my WIP, it's probably not going to develop into the final image, but more of a sketch to help me work out how to draw the final.
The basic idea is a land walking reptile which has a fin (if that's the right word) along it's back, the fin is made of hard skin with veins of poison. When attacking it can either lower it's head and charge, using the fin as a horn, or it can bend the skin over it's legs and in a rolling motion create bubbles of poison but this is more of a defensive attack.
I need to make the skin look more spherical and I want to complicate the creature more, with a detailed face and scales, any suggestions for things to add in? Like pours on the belly that release air to fill the inside of the bubbles, or anything else you can think of.

Congrats SirHappy! I think yours had alot of creativity in it! Great job to all though!

I like this weeks theme, i think it is much more flexible for us to create something totally different.. If you need help with the voting situation, im sure ill be around to give a hand!

Zach, I like your creature WIP, it reminds me of that spitter dinosaur from jurassic park for some reason, even though it looks totally different! I think you may be better off doing that view you have shown in the bottom right, however! Looking forward to your piece!

Volit0, yours is nice, but i fail to see how it is poisonous.. perhaps give it more of a body, or venom inducing appendage.

time to get to work!

I think the tail looks 2D compared to the rest, it should be facing forwards more, other than that just get the colours to blend well so it doesn't look like sections of blue, green and brown.

This weeks theme is good, it's the right balance of not being too open and not being too restricted. I can see what you mean about the Jurassic Park look of my creature, it's the stretchy skin that does it. I think my main view is going to be half way between the top and bottom left pictures, giving you a good enough view of the inside and outside, I might also include the creature while walking but I'll see how it goes.

...i fucking hate corel...soooo much...
problem 1: had to move the head and didnt realize that now the entire square used to move said head would be white until i finished my background
problem 2: was going to erase background when i accidently slid my eraser size to the max and corel just shut down on me, along with my fucking cow for this week

to pissed to redo it, i'll just skip this week until i no longer hate corel.
oh and a suggestion for you, prehistoric creature, great idea for a cow

This didn't turn out as poisonous as planned, so I'm going to consider it a WIP and try to make a new more venomous one sometime this week. The fin on the back should really have a 60 degree gap, and I just change the proportions or something to make it less lizard-like..

Great! I love the pose and you did a great job with the poisonous theme. But again, the only thing I'm missing is a background.. well keep it up ;)

I like it, the fog around him looks cool. Maybe you could change his legs a bit though.

Looking good as usual, but I agree with the lizard-likeness.
But It's cool that you post unfinished stuff so we can see your original ideas, etc.

Good job on that and its great your having another go, the texture is pretty good and i love the way you colour in photoshop, im going to have a go at colouring from scratch in photoshop. It has a certain style i like.
Anyway, good job on the colouring and i cant wait to see your next one :D.

Mine is a WIP, it was going to be similar to the first image I posted, but getting the right angle to show both the outside of the ball and the inside was difficult, every time I drew it the body would be too hidden.

It'd be good if he was just leaking a little bit of poison out of his penis, and if you do that then fade the 4 black lines on the left wing, they're too strong.

Long Legged Turtle

This creature stomps around the woods eating leafs and small incest. It can also use its large claws to crush smaller animals such a rabbits and foxes although it wont eat them. It has a scaly shell on its back to protect it from bears and large birds and its Long Green legs secrete a strong poison which will paralyse any animal stupid enough to take a bite of them.

I tried to keep the background simple on this one because normally I ruin the picture with a busy background. I enjoyed adding the scaly texture to the body and I think its turned out quite well. I think it would be nice to do an unsymmetrical creature one week.

Really cool, it looks more poisonous then the last one, and I love the light coming from behind with the purple on the front. Good job! ;)
