Time for a new cow! Remember that the voting for #14 is still running, though.

This weeks topic: Cave digger
As suggested by Zach. ;)

Also, there's a new rule. Again. You can only make one finished entry, now that we have voting, but if you make more than one, then you have to say witch one you want in the votingthread.
And you can still post unfinished pictures if you want, ofcourse.
I hope I don't confuse you. :) If theres anything your'e wondering, then just ask.

I had made this a while ago, hoping for a underground themed COW competition. Well, I ended up submitting it to NG Food Chain (yay). Then this thread pops up, so what the hell.

Anyway, this slug monster (Gigasantrum limax , literally "giant cave slug"), hunts only by sound and touch, since it has no eyes. It feeds primarily on Spade lizards (Pala lacertus ) and Dezimo's bug (Terebro gryllus ). When excited, the male Cave slug will flare it's wing-like limbs, producing a dim glow and thick mucus which covers it's body. Males also do this to attract females during matting season. Females will typically lay a clutch of about 15-25 soft, mucus-covered eggs. The males will be left to guard and incubate the eggs while the mother hunts to nurish the parents during the incubation period. Normally, only around seven young make it to birth. The unhatched eggs will provide food for the infant slugs. On average, three or so infants slugs make it to adulthood. The average Giant cave slug lives for about 300 years before wriggling into soft patches in the caves floor to die. The oldest recorded slug lived to 347.4 years in cativity.

Living most of it's life undeground, it's evolved past the need for eyes and a strong pigment in it's skin.

Making it's home by running full pelt into a wall, until it gives way to form a cave fit for living.

Added on to the number of cock puns in there, you had to make the actual monster look like a dick. Haha brilliant :)

Ok, well, I havent finished quite yet... and it kind of looks like a troll, but TECHNICALLY a troll isnt an animal so it TECHNICALLY still qualifies for COW... right?

Cave Digger

This Creature lives in caves and eats soil, It has a large muscular hook arm on its head for breaking up hard ground and shovelling dirt. It also has 2 smaller claws on its front for dragging soil into its mouth.

............

I like the look of the Hammer head mole this week, I can just imagine it running into walls trying to break them down.

Sirhappy, yours looks great! ^_^

----

This is just about the rarest picture you will find, the only picture known of the creatured named Dorgraive. It is believed that the Dorgraives are a group species that lives underground. As evidence shows, It uses it giant muscular arms to smash through rocks, dirt, and clay. The elders are marked with heavy, deep red armor, to show their strength and age.
A Dorgraive's skin is thick and rough, especially on its back. The only hair that grows on their body is a small tuft on the top of their head, and so far, it is only known to be the color brown.
Some theorys think that the Dorgraive has elaborate cities underground, lighted by glowing crystals. They are thought to be very social too, working in family groups.

This particular Dorgraive, named George by the founding scientist, seems to have come up to the surface world for something, but got lost. He is an elder, and though scared, is very strong.

Picture was documented in Nevada, USA.

Thank you very much ^_^ In all honesty, I think this might probably be one of the best digital art pieces I've done! And I can thank COW contests for that ^_^

I feel guilty about submitting stuff out of the blue, so here's my line drawing I'm almost happy with.
I fancied trying one where the main creature used others to do the work, and the eels were once moles til I decided it'd be more tasteful if they were made up too.
What I intend to do is have the skin of the eels 'fishlike', maybe reptile skin on the riders since I'm dying to have a go after SirHappy's last week, but they're maybe a little too small. Will also put dust clouds where they exit the ground, and put a "sunset" behind them (don't think I mean that though) so that they're in the shade, but have a glow surrounding their edges.
