I looked around but didn't see a place for painters to show off their stuff. I mostly work in oil or acrylic, but feel free to post any work you like. Here is one I did for a friend of mine.

And here is one I did for Bomtoons, because he was kind enough to give me a T-shirt. He's a swell guy!

I'm not much of a painter. More of an animator really.
Anyway, I guess that look pretty good. Love the details too!
Send more, aye!
heres another. oh man these are really getting old i should start a new painting....
:: Damn laziness
meh not everyone has seen these though, im not very popular. so i guess this is mildly new.....
1st ever painting, Acrylic still life. took i dk 6 hours maybe? guh i hate myself for posting this old crap.
u guys r all amazing artists wow....I suck with a paintbrush...There's no eraser (or in for flash, theres no CTRL-Z!!!)
Looks good UNREE! This is what I was hoping for. Anybody who paints is welcome to post. Any medium, even mixed, just as long as it's painted too!
TIP TO ANYONE: If you're having trouble taking a descent picture of your painting, set up the camera on a tripod or anything else handy that might make a good base, get the painting in the viewfinder, and set the timer on the camera. By not having to press the button manually, you reduce the amount of shake on the photo. If you have an external shutter button you can use that - of course, if you have an external shutter button, chances are you didn't need me to tell you that;)

Heres one I call the 4 Eyes of Scorn, ...its 3' x 3' would love to hear any comments!
That's awesome. I like the comic book style, also that's a really good size for it! I like doing painting on bigger canvases, but they're so fucking expensive that you almost can't afford to paint on anything you don't intend to sell that is bigger than 36"x36"

Wow, looks great, very proffesional looking.
oils on a block of wood. I'm fairly inexoerienced with painting but I enjoy it. I'd like to try acrylics next but I'm taking some time off from college. (and therefore spend all of my time at work)
I will eventually get around to putting something here. for the meantime here is a link to my portfolio
*inexperienced not inexorienced or whatever the hell I typed lol

It looks good! I love the look you get with oil on wood. I was on a big oil kick for a while, because it's so much easier to blend, but now I'm back to acrylics. I've got a little place, and even using mineral spirits it can get stiffling with open thinner. With acrylics, all you need is water. Plus. you can get an additive that makes acrylics act more like oils. It's not perfect, but it helps.
This is one is a Birthday present for a fellow painter. I usually paint presents for people if they like them. It's better than buying them something, and keeps you in practice. Plus, if you die tragically, some snooty better-than-thou gallery owner might come by and give your friend money so other snooty fruitcakes can see it. WIN WIN

What medium did you use? Acrylic?
Great work guys, I have canvas and now I need to buy some paint supplies and I'll be doing my first paintings. Probably within a month or so.
If this thread is still alive by then, which I hope it is, then I can show off how badly they turn out (as I assume it is a difficult transition to become a good painter.)
Oh and yes like I said, I really like a lot of the paintings in here, you guys are good whether you think so or not =)

It's oil on wood
Now this one is acrylic on wood
(when i say wood its a triplay painted with "geso" its a white liquid)
wow i would call this thread a WIN, because these paintings rock

Hahaha, is the similarity to Fight Club coincidental, or on purpose?
Anyway, great stuff, everyone who posted! I'm amazed! deadspread, Your stuff is so good I would have had to check to make sure it wasn't stolen if you hadn't posted more than one, hahahaha. I would buy anyone of the paintings you posted in a second if i thought I had even close to what they're worth. This also goes for 4 Eyes of scorn by KVCharger, amazing blend of comicbook style and just plain trippyness.
Keep up the good work!

Did this about 2 months back. Sorry bout the low quality--I used a camera. I'm not a very good painter... comments?

Keep it up! Nobody starts out being Michaelangelo. If you like painting, keep painting, and you'll just naturally get better. Try different mediums. If you did 1 painting a week for 3 months, you probably wouldn't believe how much you would improve. Practice makes perfect.
Good luck and keep working on it!
Has anyone heard of "Shotgun Red"? Probably nobody has. He was puppet comedy relief on a Middle Tennessee Television show called the "Ralph Emery Show" Any way, I painted this painting of him kind of like those shitty velvet paintings with ladies sprawled out on a tiger skinned rug. As soon as I figure out how to photograph it, I'll post it (It's pretty Big ...40"x60"?_)
