Getting promoted to manager

This really sucks right now. I work at a little restaurant called "Quick Dish". Nothin special, just a little "make-your-own-food" restaurant. I've been there for about, 6 months, and it's a real easy job. All i do is prep food, and smile for the customers.
Today, my jew-boss, asked me if i could come in early to work tomorrow, when i asked him how early, he said 9 am. I assumed i would be working with one of the other managers, but then he told me "Yeah, you gotta open the store tomorrow, and get the place prepared for a party of 5." That's when he dropped the store key into my hand. All i could do was, smile, nod, and say "Sure, no problem.", but in my head i was screaming "no no no no no! Do not want!".
I like this job, i really do, but i didn't sign up for this responsibility! All i want to do is make food, and wash dishes, now i'm a fucking manager, and i'm not even getting a raise. It's a real bitter / sweet situation. I'm recognized as a responsible and respecful employee, but now i got this huge responsibility tossed at me, and if i fuck up, i'm going to fall hard, and fast. My only choice is to do a good job, and tell my jew-boss, do not want.

Take the compliment. It means they think you're ready.

I suppose. It can't be that bad. The only thing is, the people i work with are great. But they're the type of people that are smiles on the outside, but as soon as you fuck up, they will tear you to shreads like wolves. Not that i've fucked up yet, but i've seen it happen...

Just tell him that you won't do it unless you get a pay raise. It's not fair to give you more responsibility but not more pay.

You're going there to work in the first place. Might as well use more of your head while you're at it. It's not like it negatively affects the quality of life on the outside.

Ehh, it just sounds like you've been given the opening shift... not a promotion to manager.
Of course I dunno how it works 'round there... maybe the opening person is by an unspoken law automatically the new manager?

I'd like some clarification puhleeze.

Here's how the basic operation works: People come in, and make their own food (we provide everything, the recipes, measurements, supplies, etc.) They make the food they want, and take it home. We always have a manager-on-duty, and depending on how big the party is, decides how many of the employees we'll need for the day (large party, 3-4 people working, small group, 1-2)
There is no manager on duty schedueled for tomorrow. It's me, Genny, Sarah, and Gabi. Wayne has put me in change of opening AND closing the store. Hench, why i have the key. I'm assuming that, this is probably a test, and if i pass, he'll make me my own store key. Which i kinda do/don't want.

Gee, thanks Mendou. Your thoughtless posts always make me feel so much better.

Usually, yeah. All he did was hand me a key, and tell me to open the store. Maybe if i do this right, i'll get a raise. Hopefully, i'm sick of being poor.

I assume that you've already thought that if this is a test and you do pass it then maybe you'll get the raise after that along with the new responsibilities. That's the first thing I thought of after reading your situation. Then again, your boss could just be milking you for extra work for the amount you usually get paid. I'd say that if you were asked to do this again, ask your manager if you're officially a manager, and if so, then suggest to him that you should be getting paid more for having more responsibilities. Hope it all works out for you.
