It's a fun game, and the models for the girls are great. The attack animations are pretty good. The music is really well done, and sets the tone well between the different enemies. It would be nice if there was a bonus gallery or something for fully completing every character. The Ultimate Magic style feels OP, but that's fine because it's a fun reward for beating the Empress who is pretty OP herself.
There are some problems with the combat style, mainly, it's quite strongly RNG based, not just in your attacks, but more so because of the enemy attacks; they can just keep using unblockable magic with no limitation. Instead, you could make it so that the enemy has a magic bar like the player they charge up by attacking normally. Some attacks have quite a delay before they kick in, and can feel clunky, like the lightning kick or the tension combo after taunting. Making this delay a bit smaller would probably make the combat feel smoother. The defense runes sometimes resulting in you just getting hit is pretty bad in some fights, and if you get unlucky with the timing it seems like the enemy can hit you normally and then start the attack for the defense rune but without you being able to defend it. You should probably make these runes always at least result in a draw, if not a successful counter.
Once you get your style points maxed early-ish on, you'll go into each fight with 6 in everything, which removes some of the fun of deciding what you want to focus on.
The final boss is probably a bit too tough, especially on No Magic (even with the difficulty on Beginner). Specifically, her attack where she jumps off screen and deals about 45% of your HP is one that often you cannot stop and will just kill you.
Toffee has a couple of bugs:
1) If you use her magic style against her, the attack magic applies to you not her.
2) If you use an attack+defense magic (i.e. the middle button) which should increase your stats, it won't.
Black should not have an ability that cannot be interrupted that turns the screen black. That's bad design because it removes all player agency from that part of the fight, and even worse, it can chain into itself, making for a round of random clicking and/or just waiting to die.
There's a bit of a bug where runes stop spawning and your enemy gets stuck if you cast magic on her after taking her health to 0 already, but you can just taunt and use the tension combo to fix it. (For me it happened using the middle magic for fire that surrounds them in a big ball of flame.)
I think we fixed the cage magic issue vs Toffee.
