Almost perfect.
The animation, SFX, music, characters, backgrounds.... all perfect.
The only thing I didn't like was the ending. I mean, the guy goes through all that just to off himself at the end? I could understand if he was, say, just a warrior meathead with no chance of returning home, but the guy was obviously smart enough to learn magic. One would think he would at least have tried to find his bearings and actually look for a way home instead of just immediately (and arbitrarily) assuming he could never go home.
And seeing as he wasn't willing to wait around to see what the strange people we're going to do to him, and subsequently made his own way out, he showed a strong sense of survivalism and self-preservation. Which the suicide at the end completely negates. It just doesn't make sense.
Sorry to nag on such a seemingly little thing, but it just didn't add up.
