Reviews for "Miss Dynamite XX"
Good and bad
First, the bad points:
- The inappropriate and (to some) offensive Catholicism jokes. They weren't needed, and were cheap. I'm not Catholic, I don't like organized religion of any kind, but I just don't like cheap shots. It seems lazy.
- The plot was unclear. You make a reference to going to the website. Well I can't be bothered. I want to watch a short story here, I don't want to have to research and read to understand it.
- The entire fight was in black and white, which at first looked nice and artistic, but then I realised it was just laziness. If you'd mixed up the colour with the b&w then that fight would have looked a lot better.
- Standard music, but I guess it wasn't too bad.
- The film just ends out of nowhere, and it's unsatisfying. Maybe in a wider context your stories make more sense, but to a new viewer it is quite confusing.
The good:
- Some of the humour DID work. The line "You will not resist my magical Jesus powers" I thought was really funny, without being nasty or offensive. It was a harmless pisstake. The bouncing breasts also was really funny, although some may not appreciate the sexist attitude you've shown.
- I loved the animation and the drawing. It wasn't flawless, but it was fairly smooth. The characters I believed were actually fighting, rather than just being drawn. Some of the visuals and artistic direction was gorgeous, and that is where you got most of your overall marks from me.
- The length of the piece was just about right. It's just a shame that the story was a little unclear because it was a wasted opportunity to really do something exciting.

Superb...
Althogh I really need to stress the fact that I am a semi-devout Catholic, and what was "offensive" has already been parodied hundreds of times and the way it was here was very tame in comparison. Plus, Miss Dynamite has parodied loads of stuff like this before (including another "offensive" christian joke; beating up a Jehovah's Witness.) so this cannot be claimed to be "too far" when we've all seen the Backstreet Boy torture scene. Anyways, the movie itself was superb, the graphics were sharp, the fight scene was superb and the humour was for the most part genuinly funny. Good job again.

hey the film was really really good ( save the average humour) but the whole religious theme is unmotivated and offensive andi know u have the right to make what u want but i dont see how taking a shot at christianity added to ur movie at all i found it lame and ill-humoured

The sword fight was by far the best of this flash but the rest...sucked. Humor was okay storyline/plot (was there a plot?) was weak but really I agree who needs a real reason for a fight like that? Its like marvel super hero fights. They don't need reason, just a cause, and the action starts. The perloader was different. Intersting music but honestly I think you could do so much better. Overall was worth seeing but not twice over. Good luck on your next flash. Caio!
