I'm not sure I understand the review, but I'm just going to type a response to what I think it means:
You find the easter egg by clicking on a particular out-of-the-way object on the main menu. The movie itself is not the easter egg. The easter egg is a small clip that has nothing to do with the actual movie.

This was as good as the first one. To JonBro and Lilmario, you guys have outdone yourselves. I love how you made Mario and Luigi fight each other. The fighting was as intense in the first one. But, I want to know what happened to the Mario Brothers. Well I know that they're alive. I hope you make more cool Mario movies.
