I have tried to replicate that sort of thing, but it never seems to work

Open a 3xosc (im assuming you're using FL here) and change the main osc to a noise wave and turn the others down. click the INS tab, then the CUT under that. turn the AMT all the way up and change the filter to a BP. modX goes all the way down, and modY goes all the way up. adjust the attack and decay as you see fit (more att=positive sweep, no attack but more decay = negative sweep). hope i made this clear and helped a bro out!
EDIT: slap an EQ and delay on there to make it sound totes better.

Well it is a remix of a tune I enjoy with deeper stereo sounds and everything else imaginable. This sounds like it would make an awesome side scrolling song as well, great work on this piece.

It was a bit iffy in the beginning, but after the buildup it got awesome. The changes in dynamics were sweet, and gave the song more personality and depth. One thing it could have had is a bit more change in the main melody or perhaps a secondary backup to the melody, maybe even a tiny bit of a change up in the counter-melody. Totes sweetness though. As always, MORE COWBELL.
