Amazing
I have to say, I was really surprised. I didn't understand why the game was titled "Don't look back" until later. I also, like someone else pointed out, that this game is very similar to the classic Atari. Also, the story is very much so of Greek mythology (for those of you who are confused, read about Orpheus, very interesting). I have to say, however, that the ending did confuse me, and I don't quite understand what happened. I was heartbroken, because after much tedious work, for the game to end the way it did. I only, as I was writing this, realized the bosses. In the story of Orpheus, Orpheus had to get past Cerebus, a three headed dog, and had to speak to Hades himself (familiar yet?). I feel if I tell you the rest of the story it may ruin the game, so apologies. Still leaving me confused, however, due to the ending and how it ended so strangely. Which was rather tragic.
As for game play, I loved it. I brought back a very much so classic feel of platformers on consoles such as the Atari. The game did, however, have a steep learning curve, and truly had me retrying levels multiple times. But that was the fun of it. The bosses were a pain, but once you understood a pattern it was pretty much just not dying through the fights.
Anyway a great game, but I wish maybe there was a bit more reason to how it ended as it did. Maybe someone can tell me. For during the ending, no one looked back.
