Poor Excuse

Making the 'hardest game ever' then putting ads on the death screen is such a paper thin ploy that I feel embarrassed for the author. Were it not for the ads the game would still be entirely uninteresting but at least it wouldn't render it's premise so offensively disingenuous.

Games like this make me yearn for minus ratings; it's a 0 star game but the ads drag it down to at least -3. Even with AdBlocker on I am still offended.

The only reason that anyone has bothered playing this poor excuse for a game is because it has medals attached. If the author really believes that the reason this game is getting slammed is because of angry medal collectors then he should remove the medals and watch the score rise.

PiGPEN responds:

I'm swimming in your ad views right now.

Good Game

I like the game but your comments are crude espeically since you had to cheat at your own game to win it on your youtube video. Also, it would be easier if the hit detection on the crabs was a little more exact.

Does what it set out to do.

It more or less perfectly captures the feel you were going for. That heroic, fighting-againt-impossible-odds feeling you get from trying to survive a game's onslaught even though you have way too little HP or lives to do it the way it was probably intended, but you're not giving up because that little protagonist is depending on you, damnit!

Jumping controls are a bit sticky, and those crabs were not a good idea (there's hard and then there's aggravating - and it is entirely possible to have one without the other). Level design was nothing to write home about, but still good, which is already an accomplishment. Platformer level design is pretty difficult.

If you were going for a Mario Bros look, you definitely failed. The graphics and sound here are more like the sort of thing you'd get on an Atari 2600 than a NES.

It wasn't very fun or enthralling, and although I recognize this was designed to capture a feeling rather than deliver an excellent platforming experience, it doesn't capture that feeling quite deeply enough to get a good score. 4/10.

Eternally pissing me off

and yet one of the greatest challenges I've had in a while, great placing of everything too.

One thing though: every 5 or 10 or so times I die, some add comes up for some MMO.......why does this repeatitively keep happening?

PiGPEN responds:

Because that MMO wants you to play it.
Don't you dare play it though. There is only Lastman.

Challenging

Finally... a challenging platformer. Great game man.
