Frustrating

I like games with new original ideas or new original control schemes like this one. The control scheme does take some getting used to and after a while, you'll play well with it. But you never feel like you completely grasp it. You'll get more comfortable with it, but never completely master it.

Graphics: 8/10 - I like the hand-drawn graphics style, but it could use a bit of color here and there.

Gameplay: 7/10 - There's some pretty basic gameplay. Just go from start to finish, left to right, on each level, and avoid the enemies and spikes. I was sort of confused why you could walk through the spikes and be okay, but if you landed on them you died.

But it's always fun and the game doesn't last too long, so it doesn't get very repetitive. Also, the levels are very short, so you never have to fear having to repeat a large section of the game with the awkward and unreliable controls.

Sound: 9/10 - There are some "interesting" sounds in this game, and it is overall mostly pleasant to the ears.

Controls: 5/10 - The unique controls are the whole point of the game, but they can get pretty frustrating. As I stated before, you never feel like you have completely mastered them, and sometimes you'll have to think for a second how to pull off a move that should come naturally.

And portions of the game that would be easy with generic controls can become incredibly frustrating with this control scheme. I also ran into a problem where the character would often not jump when I released the mouse and expected him to jump, so I never knew if I was going to make the next leap.

Replay Value: 7/10 - There are a very decent number of levels (20), and there is a Hard difficulty mode to up the ante, where you can't even touch walls or you die instantly. That and the scoring brings some good replay value to the game.

Overall (Not An Average): 7/10 - Good

good idea

this is an interesting and inventive way of gameplay, even though it is somewhat primative. i like the idea and the artwork design was also interesting, i enjoyed the paper at the background and levels appear to be sketched upon it, it gives a nice relaxing feel to the game.
However, it was very awkward to play... its a nice idea and an interesting concept, but the level of entertainment from a single button can only reach so high. another thing that i did not like was that there was no way to change the direction that your avatar would run in, perhaps make him run in the direction of your cursor? that way it remains a single button game, but adding more variaty to the gameplay.

a very nice start, i would like to see this improved upon in the future. It does have the potential to be an exellent game.

Honestly...

The controls SUCK. I mean suck BADLY. Its way too hard to get him through the easiest of task with them.

I loved the art though, and music.

I had little problem with it, but..

The game itself was fine, audio, graphics, etc. all fine but as you and many others mentioned, it was the controls.

I wasn't having a lot of trouble but I found it really uncomfortable, platformers already have a tried and tested format for controls and as an avid platform game player I know well how good it can work, I see where your idea would stem from it just wasn't very comfortable (nor, did it really draw me in).. Sorry but I couldn't give it a higher score because frankly I wasn't enjoying it..

Very Annoying....

Okay, so at first it took some time to getting used to the controls...I understand the controls is only supposed to be one button but that's insanely hard.. You prefer us to NOT bump the walls in easy mode or else you lose points. In hard mode, YOU DIE from hitting the walls..the problem with the wall thing is that you can't back up in the game making your jump pretty hard to make since you have to release your mouse click to jump and you run fairly quick and then you hit the wall, OH NO, look I died :(. Also in level 5 when you jump on the first platform by the spikes, you can just run through the spikes, I didn't play further on level 7 so I don't know if you intended to let that happen. 7/10,4/5.
