Reviews for "The Clown Downstairs"

only one bad thing about it

the flash was fantastic, and even better it was your first attempt at flash...which is absolutely amazing. the only think i can think to critique is the jaw movement, but trust me i would give you 100 just cuz this is ur first

JohnDavidHeptinstall responds:

Thankyou very much! - and yeah, the jaw movement did get a little stodgy

JohnDavidHeptinstall responds:

holy shit!!!!!!!

pardon meh franch but holy shit that was creepy as all hell and quite enjoyable too i thought i was gunna crap meh pants when the clown started to move it terrified me cause 1 i hate clowns 2 i love zombies and finnaly 3 i hate zombie clowns!!!

JohnDavidHeptinstall responds:

lol glad you liked it!

Thoroughly Disturbing

I think that the entire mood started off perfectly. The lack of music made the ehthereal, airy sounds much more prevelant and keep the viewer focused on the action.

When I saw the clown I found the fact that his eyes were always in motion made them stand out, attracting attention to them made it creepier. Not to mention the brilliant art of the enitre animation throughout.

When the bug crawls through the clown you can almost feel it, it's uncomfortable and that's just what it should be.

The stomach spitting the bug out was a nice, gross touch.

JohnDavidHeptinstall responds:

thanks very much, i'm glad you enjoyed it!

jesus f***king christ dude,

that was the most horrifically creepiest thing i have ever seen sense i saw Rob Zombie's "House of a Thousand Corpses". there was a point half in the video where i actually felt a strong shiver coarse through my arms making the hairs on my arms stand up on end. if this was your first attempt at MX flash, then jesus, it was good.

i read your post, and yes, i hope your future projects get the same response to. keep up the good work, and maybe watch that rob zombie movie for a bit of inspiration if you're gonna keep making creepy short stories.

i especially liked how you started off by describing the setting through the bug's point of view, a classic horror movie element i see used time to time.

10 stars, voted 5, loved it, and i'm DYING to see more!

JohnDavidHeptinstall responds:

Haha I'm a big fan of both House of 1000 corpses and The Devil's Rejects - I absolutely love those films - Thanks very much for the vote and the support!
