Reviews for "Robot Wants Puppy"

I disagree with most of these reviews.

I get exactly what you were going for, I don't think the other reviewers quite understand that if you would have kept with the same upgrades IT WOULD HAVE BEEN THE SAME GAME. I thought this was beautifully designed. Simple, yet slick and challenging. The mapping was great, the kitty throw was a fun challenge (and such a sigh of relief when you get the kitty recall), and the whole 'have to kill yourself to progress' concept is just part of making this game more of a challenge. I'm not sure why this game is getting such mixed reviews but here are my final thoughts:

I couldn't stop playing, I loved Robot Wants Kitty and I thought Robot Wants Puppy was an incredible sequel. Just as entertaining as the first with it's own unique aspects. The controls are as smooth as smooth can be, the music creates a perfect atmosphere and sucks you into the game that much more, the upgrades were quite nice as well. Other people complained that you're not giving us cool enough stuff--I completely disagree. You added new elements but kept it challenging. It accomplished what a free online flash game should: A good challenge, continuous entertainment, and a new interesting concept. Great.

Overall, fucking WONDERFUL game, thank you so much. I cannot wait to see what you have for us next.

Still pretty good.

I did not enjoy this one as much as I did kitty. I haven't gone back to kitty and played it again, so I'm just going off of what I can recall when it first came out.

I remember kitty being 2-3x as large as this one. I also feel like the mazeness (look, I made up a word) was a lot more elaborate in kitty. Puppy just felt very straight forward, and I might even jump to a conclusion and say the whole thing felt rushed.

I also don't understand why the robot lost all of his powers, just because he had kitty. The kitty throw was challenging and fun at first, but it eventually just got super annoying. I found myself missing throws or getting my kitty to a spot where I couldn't get it back, and I'd just have to kill myself to progress. This, of course, was fixed when I got the kitty recall power, but that was so late into the game that it didn't matter much. I was just wondering to myself the entire time, "Why the hell can't I shoot my frickin robot lasers! Stupid cat, go away."

All that being said, the game generally stuck to its roots. It still had great controls, and I still love the style and concept. Keep up the good work.

true

yeah bad upgrades you should have made this like robot wants kitty

Nostalgia, 2010 style

A perfect example of how old techniques (Metroid, Super Mario brothers) can be used in modern day times for entertainment.

Ignore the younglings that don't know just how bright a gem this game is. This thing is 8-bit heaven, retro style.

Unfortunate it's so short however, could have done with some more upgrades (Shrodinger's cat? Passes through walls? Hey, take it. Freebie) Would have been nice to have had a power-up that allowed one's self to roll while crouching, never really saw a use for it.

good, had some flaws

the uprgades where pretty sad... the cat thing was fun though. there were wome glitches i found... so i hope the next one is better
