Unbelievable!
I'll get straight to the point here. Tom, this is the best game you've ever created. Ever! But where do I start from here...
Well, I think it's absolutely fantastic that you decided to make a game based on The Room. I'm a fan of this cult flick, so a game about it is one of the best things ever. On the other hand, a game about this would seem like a recipy for disaster, but everything that could have gone wrong turned out so well. And I have nothing but praise for that.
Let's talk about the music first. There's only a few tracks, but I will never get tired of them until the day I get fed up with this world. Especially the main theme, which is arranged in such a lovely way that it will stick to your eardrums like superglue. I like the original, but this is just way awesome. I also loved how the main theme was transformed into a pokémon-esque battle theme during the battles, good thinking!
Graphics are sublime. The old-school pixel style seems to be popular in today's flash games. This game has the best so far. From the bizarre smirk on Johnny's face, to the faithful recreation of the room itself, complete with spiral staircase. The environments outside are great eyecandy, and enjoyable to walk through. My compliments to JohnnyUtah. How's your sexlife?
Gameplay. Not much to say here; just a point and click game, but with many things to interact with. Really nothing to complain about, because it all works so well. That's life!
The story follows the movie's very well through every major event, wether it is just through dialogue or a minigame, and there's plenty of other goofs on the side. But what I really need to compliment you on is the ending. I really didn't see that one coming. Needless to say, it made me laugh. Ahaha!
Content and Replay value. This is where the game really shines. There's simply so much to do, so much hidden stuff, and getting all the medals is going to take you forever! Truth be told, some medals are quite frustrating to unlock (Quarterback in particular, forcing you to start the day over when you don't make a perfect pass), but hell, those are just extra's, and don't take the fun away from the game. Oh, and finding all the spoons to get the best ending was very amusing, and surprisingly, not that difficult.
In conclusion, The Room Tribute has just so many things to offer that it's impossible to adress everything here. The only thing I can advise you, is to play it and see for yourself how good it is. An excellent tribute to one of the greatest movies ever created. It's a riot!
