Reviews for "Bubble Raid"

interesting concept

but the controls are way too sensitive

wow...

the game was cool, and i liked the concept of it. i thought it was gonna suck until i played it, turned out pretty good though. i like the idea of staying in the colored squares for powerups, lol. the only downside to the game is the controls, it would have made better sense in my opinion to use the directional pad instead of the mouse, you move it one way and your ship goes another way. its definately an aquired taste.

Love popping bubbles, hated the controls.

There something satisfying about popping bubbles. I don't know what it is, but it's fun to do. That's probably one of the reason why I'm rating this game so high. I just love to pop bubbles. However, popping those little suckers can be quite frustrating at times, thanks to the controls and level design.

I appreciate the fact that you updated the game with a lock button. That helps quite a lot, but not enough. I really don't like the idea of having to pause the game to rotate an erratic, twitchy spacecraft-arrow-thingy in certain spots. Perhaps, another button to stop and rotate the craft is needed. And I don't really understand the whole warp ability either. It's pretty useless, imo. I never use it, and it always seems to go off when I don't want it to, causing the craft to malfunction at the worse of times.

Some other complaints I have with the game are the lack of imagination in the levels and the bubble design. I'm kinda perplexed at the idea of trying to destroy increasingly tougher bubbles, while the craft's bullet strength remains the same throughout, and with less powerup squares becoming available in the later part of the level to power them up. I just wonder why you couldn't just use different bubbles, like the ones you have in double dog difficult mode, which produce smaller bubbles, or invisible bubbles, to add extra challenge in the later part of the levels. Just a thought.

Anyways, not a bad game. Bubble popping is fun, though.

Thanks for the thoughtful review!

I fully admit that the level design is uninspired in spots. Powerups are mostly random, so if there are fewer of them in a certain area it's mostly luck.

The ship isn't twitchy once you get used to how it turns with movement. There is a big learning curve, though. I tend to draw a lot of figure eights etc. to smoothly fly around.

There is no warp mode... not sure what you're refering to with that. If you mouse offscreen and back on in a different spot, the game thinks you're trying to cheat/teleport so it causes your gun to malfunction for a period of time based on the distance the ship jumped.

cool

cool game!

Perfect

its a great game to kill time with it
