Learn to love it
The first time i played it i loved the nostalgic feeling but i hated the gameplay, because it was so frustrating.
A few weeks later i gave it another try, started to master it, and now i love it.
It was worth the effort. Learning original new controls takes time.
If you don't know how to get the secret medals then i guess you haven't played the original game on Colecovision. Try to find some magazines from 1983 to get a hint. (in the tips and tricks/cheat codes pages)
