Reviews for "Dire Haven"

Crazy and awesome!

This was so sweet because you had no idea what was going to happen next. The weirdest thing was at the beginning where I didn't know where to go. In fact, I don't even think I even now know how I got out of that scenario. Anyway, the graphics in this are good and it's great how everything moves so smoothly. I can say it's the first game in awhile I've played where everyone was naked. It kind of makes you have pride in your nudity.

There were just so many things lurking around everywhere out to kill you. You had to really know how to manuever things and luckily, I'm good with games. It may be the first time I ever noticed a genre being "Hop and Bop". It sounds like a Dr. Seuss book. I don't think the different characters had different skills, but it's still cool to see them switch.

Very good

Although unoriginal in style and type of game this has it own class. Yes we could be playing meat boy but no. We decidee to play this game , and you know what? Im glad that I did. It may be because of my petty enjoyment but I could waste hours away playing this game.

To those who play games simply for the medals: A game should be played for the game's ability for it make you enjoy playing it not some petty hoarding of you trying to get medals.

Great!

I know I shouldn't think so highly of this game, since it's an extremely basic and simple retro styled platformer, (there are WAY too many), but there's a certain charm and fun to the game that made me love it. I give 9 stars instead of 10 because there's no save feature. It's really frustrating having to replay some of these levels over again since the game is so hard.

That's not how ice works!

I was halfway through the lost levels before I realized that you can jump while falling.

The lost levels actually aren't that hard. Nothing compared to say MoneySeize or Meatboy. They're not even that hard compared to the campaign levels. I got third place in them, but unfortunately you can't even view the high scores without beating it.

A chuckle and a challenge

Bit mad really (in a good way) and - as lots of people have said - pretty tough. Didn't really want to play it forever, but controls were fluid and dying from the slammy spikey things was actually quite funny several times over. Not sure why! I think it might be because quite often they were hidden and had complex falling patterns so sometimes getting hit was a total surprise and getting past wasn't /always/ a case of just waiting for a drop and then running.
Having changing characters also helps add interest to an otherwise visually straightforward game. :)
