Everything except the gameplay is enjoyable.
The prologue in particular was very good. It really got me in to the game. The way the game opened up was a revelation moment and excited me initially, but the plot driven premises of the game disappeared and I was left feeling empty. Repeating the standard missions for money and reputation to open up new paths is a cool concept, but not when the gameplay is setup in a way that the stages can't deviate from the mostly standard formula of watching objects fly by.
Your hitbox in relation to the total game screen is disproportionately huge, making the game feel very chunky. There is not much movement space and removes room for some really interesting stage designs. Since there were upgrades I figured the problem might alleviate itself as I become stronger and faster, but the core problem persisted and I couldn't really get myself to enjoy the game in the end.
Good idea. Good plot. Good graphics. Boring game. Sleep inducing soundtrack.
PS: I was playing Firefox, there was some freezing up and control issues, but I didn't put that into consideration for the review.
