. When the opponent kicks a low kick, you have no chance of blocking therefore they may score easily

That's what the offside rule is for ( read the instructions ) . If you stay on-side or move offside to block after your opponent kicks the ball you can block anything. It had to be done that way otherwise people would just sit in front of their goal blocking everything.
