Reviews for "Siege Knight"

Pretty good game. Only two major complaints.
First, the difficulty ramps too quickly, with level 1 being basically impossible to lose and level 2 being basically impossible to beat without serious exp grinding.
Second, it's awkward to switch between building and shooting. You have to stop shooting to click build, hotkey the building, click the building location, click cancel after construction starts, then click weapons, hotkey your weapon, and then start shooting again. Ideally, all weapons and buildings should be in the same tab, and you should be able to click/hotkey any of them at any time. The construction cursor should also disappear after you place one, so that you can immediately begin shooting again. Maybe hold shift for the multi-place?
Other than those two things, the game is pretty fun, and I could see myself playing it all the way through.

Tyler responds:

Glad you found it fun. As for your building concern, try tab button; makes switching a breeze :]

Ingame strategic pause (to orded traps building) will be very usefull. Or asigning traps to letters. Changing from weapons to trpas, then selecting trap, then placing it... then switching to weapons again... it takes too much time.

I was really drawn into it at first. There are a number of unique enemies that take different strategies to defeat, and the shooting/defense combo keeps you engaged. However, I ragequit after losing the sixth level four times in a row.

First, the arrows eat up way too much of the available weapon upgrades. Once you get past the first few levels, the arrows really aren't that helpful compared to other weapons - especially the cannon. Despite covering the board in fully/mostly upgraded traps, a lot of the faster creatures got to my castle before I could kill them. The cannon is the only main weapon with enough damage to make it worthwhile on stronger enemies, but it shoots too slowly to be truly effective. The reverse is true for the bow and for the shotgun - they shoot more quickly, but deal far too little damage for fending off hordes. On level six, the swarm of explosive blobs destroyed my castle in a matter of moments despite having fully upgraded the bow, shotgun, and cannon (plus traps).

That said, I didn't really explore the magic elements of the game at all. Maybe that would have made a difference, but like to think that's more of a possible path to victory itself than a supplement to the normal weapons.

dude you copied the ARCUZ theme song.... tsk tsk tsk :(

Tyler responds:

All of the songs are from incomptech (free to use, credited in game as well) and remixed by our audio person.

Started off fun, but after restarting the second level for the 4th time just because you couldn't give the explosive blobs an accurate hitbox I gave up.

Tyler responds:

"couldn't give the explosive blobs an accurate hitbox I gave up."

The blob has an overly-generous hitbox actually. Sounds like you need to practice your accuracy/timing.
