Reviews for "A Matter of Caos: Episode 3"

Non vedo l'ora di giocare il quarto episodio! :D
Bravi bravi!

ExperaGameStudio responds:

E noi non vediamo l'ora di sapere se ti piacerĂ ! P.S. Complimenti per i disegni! ;)

I love this game. The mystery plot is not too predictable and it progress nicely.
However sometimes I wish there is more clues to help with the game play, especially when there is need to combine items.
keep up at it. Can't wait for the next one to come.

ExperaGameStudio responds:

Thank you very much! :)
This is our first game, but we learnt so much from it already! Right now, we're working on a kickstarter project to make a NEW and BIGGER AMr. Gilbert adventure; there, we'll use a brand new 'clues system' you might like. :) We'll upload the fourth episode on Newgrounds ASAP! Stay tuned and keep having fun!

Love the game so far, and I'm not gonna say much more, as most of what I'd like to say (and the reasons why I didn't give it 5 stars) were addressed in earlier versions.

Some minor suggestions, though:
1. In the sequence with Mentzen and his goons, I feel that a few more "checkpoints" would've made it less frustrating. While the lack of checkpoints make the player feel more inclined to make the right choices, it also makes the sequence more annoying than interesting, especially when you put really stupid choices that some just can't resist choosing (e.g. begging for mercy, praying).

2. I don't think the game ever gives a clear reason as to why you can't confront Mobbett's father. Not much of an issue, but I really wanted to figure out why he was at the Manzaran.

This last one is quite a bit more major than the other ones I've mentioned, and maybe it's just me, judging by the fact that no one else mentioned this. However, I feel this should be addressed just in case.
In both Firefox and Chrome, any attempt to load this game or A Matter of Chaos 2 would often result in something like "The browser could not allocate enough memory for the WebGL content. If you are the developer of this content, try allocating less memory to your WebGL build in the WebGL player settings.". Keep in mind that this is even when I have nothing else open. The one time I actually got A Matter of Chaos: Episode 3 to work was when I was on Kongregate, but that may be irrelevant, as I only made one attempt.
Anyways, as I said: no one else seems to have had this issue, so you should be okay. I just felt the need to address it just in case.

Thank you for your feedback!

About your suggestions:
1 - It's a criticism that some players had for this episodes. We decided to make this fight more difficutl because the episode itself is pretty linear. But we understand that it could be frustating and we're probably going to add some checkpoints in a future version of the game.
2- Mr. Gilbert cannot expose himself inside the dungeons. Anyway if you want to know more about him just send us a PM and we're happy to aswer your questions! :)

About the problem with the browser we're trying to understand what could be the problem. It is surely a problem related with the WebGL version of the game: the Unity compiler for the HTML 5 version is still in a preview version and it could have some issues.
You are able to play the game on Kongregate because here there is only the Unity Web Player version, but Newgrounds does not permit anymore to upload this version.

Anyway we're happy that you managed to play it! :)

Quite a nice detective adventure, definitely feels inspired by Discworld Noir. Wish you had some better graphics though :) Looking forward to the next episode!

ExperaGameStudio responds:

Thank you very much! We love Terry Pratchett's books and it surely inspired us, even if the stories are pretty differents. :D

As we already said the person who did the graphics for the game isn't a professional artist, but for the sequel we're going to make a Kickstarter to hire some professional graphic artist!

Keep following us and keep having fun! :)

Another great sequel. Now i'm really looking forward to the last part.

ExperaGameStudio responds:

Thank you very much. The next and last episode of the story will be released very soon on Newgrounds! :D
