Project Fate (If it exists) is a fast-paced action platformer that's existed since October 22, 2021. The gameplay is heavily inspired by the Sonic and Mega Man (specifically Mega Man X) games as well games from the Genesis era. Originally, Project Fate was intended to be just a 16 bit homage to Sega Genesis games. It had a ridiculously simple story: 3 kids, a knight, a brawler, and an archer, set out to stop a corrupted "king" from taking over the world. Overtime I kept adding and changing up the lore, introducing new characters and redefining the old ones. The story also later got redefined to more so fit my current life, making it a lot darker than it originally was. I guess you can say Part 2 is inspired by my life vs Part 1 which is inspired by games from the Genesis era. The game is currently split into 2 parts: Part 1, which stays relatively close to the original vision of Project Fate, and Part 2, an extension that shifts the story into the darker direction relatively closer to my current life. The game's difficulty will be around Mega Man level, but the intended difficulty will be much harder than that.
Actual gameplay and artwork doesn't exactly exist, but I've made a WIP lorebook featuring the lore, story, characters, stages, gimmicks, weapons, boss concepts, game mechanics, and more. I've been working on this lorebook since August 2022 and currently use Obsidian to continue writing it. I want to release a public "alpha" version of it but don't know when or how I'll do that, so I'll probably just tease relevant stuff in certain songs. Nothing is final, but most of what I tease should be how I want things to be.
So far there are over 100 songs for Project Fate and (as of 2023) I've completed around 32% of that over the 2 years of making this game's OST. I've primarily been working on the level and boss music. The percent's definitely going to drop as I add more songs, but I'm not too worried about that. Just about all of these songs are made with Rytmik Ultimate, specifically the 3DS version, and I have them labeled as the "old set" since I would like to remaster them under a "new set." I've also been uploading these songs to a private bandcamp album made in January of this year (2023). I plan to make all the songs on my own because I want to be the creator of any songs that turn out to be bangers and because story-wise it would make sense.
