KUNOICHI (Kunimitsu & Komachi)

Share

Didn't expect that my first digital art of the year would be none other than a double feature of the two kunoichi that I had drawn on my first year of doing digital stuff back in 2020-2021. And it is great to look back on the old stuff...just to see how much I've visibly improved since then, between color ideas, using references for the poses/proportions, and somehow having recently got a burst of motivation to draw on paper two days straight.

...So yeah, once again two obscure ninjas despite fairly well known franchises (Kuni only appeared in Tekken 1, 2 and both Tag games, while Koma is an original made for Naruto Clash of Ninja Revolution 2 and 3).

Officially, Kuni only had concept art from Tag and a glitch in Tag 2 for her full face, while Koma never had one, likely from obviously being designed as one of two random ANBU characters to fill slots in the original Rev2 story. So consider the faces some simple creative liberty to try my own take.

Here's also two alternative colors for both: One with colors close to their original designs and masks, and the other one with Player 2 colors and no masks drawn (Kuni's from Tag 1, while Koma's from Rev2/3 though the darker blue suit was also my take to make it look different from the other two palettes)

BONUS: The original sketch on paper!
