MushroomBow

Share

Not posted in a while, have been working more on practice for other projects.

Today's image, concept I had a while ago of a "Mushroom bow" and arrow set for a fantasy weapon used maybe by wood elves or other forest dwelling people. I like to imagen the arrows actually grow like plants from some sort of magically infused tree, and when there long enough they can just be cut at the base and feathered. The left over root re-grow

into a new arrow.

The arrows themselves likely do not do piercing damage like regular ones would, each of the three variants likely have different effects.

I was thinking one would act as a delivery system for noxious spores that infect the target and those near them by bursting on impact and spreading them in a small cloud.

Another would sprout roots on impact that tie up the target, immobilising them.

Lastly, I think one would be loaded with a strong smelling liquid that would attract swarms of insects. Making both good for combat and for sabotaging enemy's, one archer could fire these on a foes food supply and run away and letting bugs devour there food supply.

As for the bow itself, not sure if it would have any special propriety's other than just being a means to fire the arrows but let me know if you have any ideas.
