2021. The misfire incident. 

1993: The Chinese secret police discover a cult in the deep bamboo forests of the province of Sichuan, These cultists are recorded to have been conducting rituals and praying to some as of then unknown deity, The cult is forcibly abolished and all of it's members are arrested and imprisoned. 

1994: All imprisoned cultists suddenly vanish from the Chinese prison system, and records of them are scrubbed from the system as best as they can be.

1996: The Chinese communist party forms the Institute of special weapons technology and begins experimenting with with strange and unique weapons technology in secret.

1997: Earthquakes are recorded in multiple provinces within China, Their magnitude's are quite low, But the death toll is still in the mid hundreds. With rescue personnel suspiciously already prepared.

1999: The Chinese communist party begins to become less and less unified, As the newly "elected" president Xi Jinping and the previous president Jiang Zemin, struggle for power within the party, Widespread arrests of CCP officials is soon launched by Xi Jinping, And the period known as the "Chinese great Purge" Begins.

2001 China is shocked, As terrorists launch a surprise attack against the country, Setting off trucks filled with explosives at the base of multiple CCP buildings, Causing them to buckle under their own weight and topple over. Killing an estimated 50,200 people in a singular attack, The most people killed by others with the same heritage in china ever since the Chinese civil war, The perpetrators of this attack are still not well known, But it is believed by the secret police that it may have been a branch of the cultist's captured in 1993 that were not caught and took revenge on the CCP for kidnapping their brethren.

2002: A second round of earthquakes hits China, More powerful than the ones in 1997, And resulting in the collapses of many of China's "Tofu buildings". And killing an undeterminable amount of people. The CCP reassures the public that it is only earthquakes, Why this distinction needed to be made was not known at the time, But with hindsight, It is more clear.

2010: The CCP splintering continues to get worse, As high ranking party officials begin to pick sides in the Xi Jinping and Jiang Zemin, Factional struggle, And disturbingly, For the CCP at least, The Institute of special weapons technology also begins to show signs of factionalism, As low ranking members begin to fight amongst themselves over who is the better leader of China.

2013: The United States of America successfully infiltrates the ISWT, But aren't deep enough into the institute to uncover anything too out of the ordinary for weapons development. But with rumors circulating about an anomalous and reality shifting God under the bedrock of China, The CIA is more than unnerved and continues in their efforts to find out more.

2015: Another terrorist attack against the CCP is made, But at their headquarters in Beijing as terrorists successfully gain access to the buildings ventilation system, And pump ricin gas into the building. Killing many high ranking CCP members, However the unintended consequences is that they successfully assassinated a major chunk of Jiang Zemin's supporters, While doing far less damage to Xi Jinping's. Resulting in tensions between the two factions to spike to new heights as the Jiang faction begins to believe the attack was an intentional assassination by Xi Jinping to kill off many of his domestic enemies. This results in the Jiang faction planning their own such attacks. And the two factions are now essentially, At war.

December 14th 2020: The war between the two factions rages, As assassinations and arrests have sky rocketed to unseen heights, And foreign influence's have been helping and hindering both sides. However the Xi Faction seems to have finally broken Jiang's and encroaches closer and closer to the man himself, If he is captured, He'll almost certainly be killed, And he knows this. His attempts at fleeing the country have failed, And his faction is falling apart around him, The only assets he has left are in the secret police and the ISWT, And he decides that if he is going to die, He was going to take out as many people as he could with him. 

December 18th 2020: The United States of America discovers what the Peoples Republic of China has been hiding. A superorganism the size of their entire country residing underneath the bedrock of the country, Interconnected with like a Catherine's wheel of muscles the size of states and bones connected between various points underneath the bedrock. It is also learned that this monster resides in an underground ocean, With water levels being measured to be deeper than anything that has ever been seen before. The CIA immediately orders their agents to cease as much information as they can and send it back to the United States as soon as possible.

January 4th, 2021: The Chinese communist party is almost completely unified under Xi Jinping, And almost all allies of Jiang Zemin have been arrested or killed. And Jiang himself now realizes, He really has no other options, And decides to pull his last string. Forever changing both the China and the world at the same time.

January 5th 2021: The order is sent. And the world begins to shake. The superorganism residing under china begins to thrash violently and earthquakes powerful enough to break the earth and tectonic plates begin to ravage china.

It's impossible to stop and it keeps getting worse and worse, Growing in power exponentially as the Superorganism continues to thrash more and more, Violently fighting against something and getting more and more enraged as time goes on, Thrashing harder with each passing minute, Until eventually the Superorganism rams itself up before it slams its full weight back down again.

Smashing the entire east coast of the PRC, And with a violent flex, Tears the country it resides under, Apart.

Slamming hundreds of thousands of miles of rock around like it was nothing and killing over 1 billion people as the sheer force of the superorganisms tantrum was too much for anyone too close let alone on, to survive, The force of the creatures thrashes are so powerful, That the force of the thrashes can be felt as far away as Istanbul Turkey. 

Tsunami's taller than skyscrapers thunder across the east and south China seas, Flooding and destroying the entire west coast of Taiwan killing everyone and everything on that side of the island, The west coast of the Korean peninsula are also completely destroyed, Killing hundreds of thousands and joining their Taiwanese counterparts in the afterlife. These are only two examples, But every single country within 1000 miles of the Chinese coast are absolutely pummeled and their people wiped from the face of the earth.

January 6th: 2021 The superorganism stops its violent fit. And the shockwaves of its tantrum cease. The PRC is all but dead. The majority of its population gone. and taking multiple hundreds of millions of people from various other nations nearby. Reconstruction and recovery is immediately put into place, And recovery of what can be recovered, Is. What happens after this only time will tell.

Had some fun chatting with my best friend over this while we wait for a surgeon who can actually help her gets to the hospital we're in. She's surprisingly calm about the whole situation, I'd be pretty spooked if I had my head cracked open, But she may just be refusing to acknowledge it as to protect herself from the strain of dealing with the mental strain of what has happened. Which I won't judge.
