Ash and Ash (Journeys and XY)

I know that both Ash are basically the same and from the same reality, but the lack of the Greninja bond phenomenon transformation in the Journeys series made me wonder how both Ash would look if they were from different universes or timelines.
Some fans used to think that Ash from the XY series was about 15, and now some fans think that Ash in Journeys looks even younger than Ash from SM, even though he has a slightly more mature personality.
