With the pardon of Asuka, EVA's best girl looks gorgeous!
One of the most influential, talked-about and controversial (ending and film-wise), anime series is without a doubt Neogenesis Evangelion. The deep story, coupled with it's colorful cast of characters, music and animation, made EVA an anime for the ages.
The subject of this illustration, Misato Katsuragi, is, despite her character flaws, my favorite EVA character. Her development and character arc endeared her to me, and her interactions with Asuka and Shinji (even if her final scenes with him may be a bit... creepy), made her a character I enjoyed watching. Now, onto the picture: it's an amazing tribute to Misato, and it perfectly captures her personality; clumsy, flirty, but all-around loveable and charming.
My favorite aspect of this illustration is Misato's expression: we can see that she may have one drink to many, but we can also see a shy, seductive glanze. Her light blush makes Misato look adorable, while her body language goes along her teasing personality. Another detail I like is the artist's interpretation of Misato: besides being faithful to the that of the anime, Misato looks very stylized, eye-popping and nicely drawn. That also includes her pose (gotta love how her top and short-shorts are nearly revealing her private parts, but her hands obscure them, giving the illustration a nice, playful tone), and the coloring. The background looks as if it was ripped straight from the anime, while Misato herself looks amazing. I love how you handled Misato's skin color (how we can see another light blush on her shoulders), and especially how you portrayed her scar; giving it a more detailed tone. The cans of beer laying beside Misato is a nice, funny detail, too.
The details on Misato's clothes are also worthy of praise: we can see wrinkles, and the textures of them on Misato makes them look as if they were about to be taken off, and I also like how you left her cross on.
All in all, this is one amazing Misato tribute, and a gorgeous piece of art. Congratulations on this drawing.
