Here's a digital illustration of a seldom seen cartoon from the 1990s, Duckman! Created by Everett Peck, it was originally a comic book series in 1990 before Peck pitched the comic series to the USA Network. The cartoon ran from 1994-1997 and it was nominated for 3 Emmys. It tells the story of the crass and cynical Duckman who lives with his dysfunctional family and worked as a private detective with a pig named Cornfed.
This cartoon, alongside Ren & Stimpy, The Simpsons, and Beavis & Butthead are one of the biggest influences when it comes to animation on television aimed towards teens and adults. Sadly, Everett Peck, died last year after pancreatic cancer at the age of 71. The illustration is meant as a tribute. The line art & speech bubble were done on Adobe Illustrator and the background & coloring were done on Photoshop. Duckman intentionally saying a line from Seinfeld's George Costanza, "You know we're living in a society!" because the voice actor of Duckman is George Costanza himself, Jason Alexander!
On my Instagram, I tagged the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network and then, they ended up liking the artwork and gave me a purple heart emoji as a comment.
Take care everyone and have a great evening!
