What for many of the inhabitants of cities such as Foshan and Jiangxi, is an event both terrifying and extraordinary, many of the rice farmers of those cities saw with astonishment enormous skyscrapers flying over the skies of China, black, dark and imposing fortresses that rise up in clouds. For many they believed that this was the product of aerial pirates like Robur The Conqueror, or some assimilate it with legendary cities such as Laputa (in the trips of Lemuel Gulliver) or even with Mount Penglai, place where the Eight Immortals reside, the main deities of China. For some members of the scientific community in Europe and Japan, it can be classified as a species of Fata Morgana, that is, a huge mirage.
