Scallops are one of the most common clams you may find in the "Bivalve Clan" of the Deep, but make no mistake, they are not to be taken lightly. Flexible, acrobatic, and on top of that, strong, they cut through the ocean's depths like a knife through butter. Some report its almost as if they were flying.
When a Scallop reaches maturity, they begin to snap their shells in two, sharpening and strapping them onto their wrists or legs to be used as personalized blades. There are more than these two methods documented, however they are the most common. Their shells being broken doesn't mean they are without defenses, however, their incredibly flexible and soft bodies make it possible for them to fit between the two halves.
