AZ Remix #2 - Skid, Pump, and Monster

Share

Previous AZ Remix: BF, GF, and Pico

Up on top of the hill, inside of a run-down haunted mansion, there lives a monster and his two puppets. Of course, no one's ever actually seen these things, so it's believed to be nothing more than spooky stories told to keep people out of the mansion. That is, until one fateful day, when someone was reported missing after having gone to this mansion. Some said they could see the lights on in one of the mansion's rooms the night of the missing person.

This spawned a lot of speculation. Was the monster real? Did it kidnap this person? Was the monster doing something to this person? No one dared find out.

Pump The Puppet (Left)

One of the puppet twins. Pump is a seemingly living puppet that has a sun and pumpkin theme. They have something of a quiet, whispery voice, and often speaks in cryptic riddles. Those that claim to have been kidnapped by the monster and it's puppets would describe Pump as being oddly kind and sympathetic towards the victim.

Skid The Puppet (Right)

The other puppet twin. Skid is also seemingly alive, and has a moon and skeleton theme. Their voice is loud and high pitched, and they speak in blunt, minimal words. Unlike their twin, Skid is considerably hyper, always moving and saying something. They seem to have a sadistic sense of humor, telling plenty of jokes that involve death, torture, or other gruesome topics.

Monster The Monster (Middle)

Monster is somewhat passive, letting his puppets do the acting and talking for him, while he often stands in the darkness, watching those that pass him. His mouth has rows of flat, rectangular teeth that are surprisingly well kept, and his lips can be sealed like a zipper. Underneath his leather jacket, there's said to be a hole that shows the inside of the monster's body, a hollow cavity with nothing but a jack-in-the-box fit inside.

The Truth...

It's believed that Monster is the master of these puppets, controlling them with some kind of magic string, bringing them to life to do his bidding. However, the truth goes much deeper.

Long ago, inside of this mansion, used to live a toymaker, a designer of dolls, puppets, and other such items. One day, he was given a mask by one of his adoring fans. The mask was a sun and moon, split down the middle, and it was able to come apart to form 2 separate masks.

The toymaker had the brilliant idea of incorporating these 2 masks into his latest designs, and thus, his magnum opus was born. Two lifelike wooden puppets with a sun and moon theme, ready to play with their new masters...

That is, until the night they both came to life. They tied the toymaker with string, before cutting open a great hole in his chest, replacing his heart with a box, ultimately transforming him into a terrible monster.

They keep magical strings attached to him so that they may take energy from him as needed, and in return, a facade is formed in which it seems that the monster is the puppet master, when in reality, the monster is the puppet.

That’s frickin’ cool! I love the designs a lot, though I think you could add more pumpkin and skeleton features to make them slightly more recognizable. The story is once again very cool, and definitely plays up the horror theme.
