I would totally play a TTRPG with these! The designs are so cool and creative!
HO HO HOPE you become a Newgrounds Supporter this year!
We're working hard to give you the best site possible, but we have bills to pay and community support is vital to keep things going and growing. Thank you for considering!
As some of you may or may not know, I love worldbuilding. I decided to compile a huge chart of just some of the different sapient character races that exists in my universe.
If you decide to want to make an OC based off of the more original races here, be sure to credit me!
Here's a brief description of each one and some links to OCs I made that are of the race.
Terrestonian (Terr-res-stoh-nian)
Literally just humans from planet Earth. Also covers elves and dwarves. This is here for the sake of having humans in my universe.
Nihilem (Nye-el-em)
Guardians of planets. They're also made out of like weird half-solid plasma and are blinding to look at.
Dephilem (Def-il-em)
Uh oh your local Nihilem did some bad things and fell out of line, so now they're cast down as a dark being, kinda. It doesn't mean they're evil or anything though.
Esoteric (Ess-oh-tair-ik)
Pitch black space entities with godly power and no idea what to do with it.
Unymph (Yoo-Nimf)
A standard humanoid that's kind of like a smiley emoji man.
Anthur (An-thur)
Literally furries. They can resemble any kind of mammal animal.
Machina Mortalis (Mock-in-uh Mor-tal-iss)
Giving souls to inanimate objects have never been more fun! They usually look like robots, objects, or dolls.
OC Example 1 - Dr. Prau Graham
Arkoey (Ar-ko-ee)
Also literally just furries, but these are more reptile, bird, or fish-based.
Nuvem (Noo-vem)
Single-eyed tentacled water creatures that are pretty smart and have a lot of technology.
(No OC Examples)
Derra (Dair-ruh)
Planets that orbit a star are given an avatar that is a sentient reflection of the planet's natural willpower.
OC Example 1 - Kyros the Mercury
OC Example 2 - Veris the Venus
Seroth (Sair-oth)
They're kind of like a NIhilem and a Derra at the same time. When a star is born, it has a Seroth born with it, which will protect said star and also govern a planet system.
(No OC Examples)
Elitan (Ell-it-an)
Beings of elemental energy, be it fire, electricity, water, you name it.
Terrai (Tair-aye)
Humans built themselves a couple fancy bodies and some of them even uploaded their own consciousnesses into them.
Terrax (Tair-ax)
They aren't humans. They're a completely different race that evolved from a completely different world but just so happen to look almost exactly like humans, save for more monkey-like features.
OC Example - Dr. Rysal Bortsov
Magdenopod (Mag-den-oh-pod)
They're similar to Unymphs but are more octopus or squid. Splatoon aliens.
Normad (Nor-mad)
Tall, big eared, long nosed people who just wanna vibe and hates violence.
Aetherian (Ee-theer-ian)
Tall headed, 7 eyed, 6 fingered, 6 armed psychic alien lords who are pretty chill but will kinda rub it in your face that they're the most intelligent organic beings in the universe.
Basma (Baz-muh)
Imagine the generic slime enemy from your average RPG game, but now they have a body and are smart enough to at least talk to you.
OC Example - Mochi (On the right) (For the record, Mori is an Anthur, and Tako is a Magdenopod)
Savodin (Sav-oh-din)
Armored alien bug people that I think I took way too much inspiration from Meruem from HunterxHunter for.
Fi-Shi (Fee-shee)
Pretty much little bug fairy people that are a little bit dumb.
Init (In-it)
Little biter gremlins. They're sapient enough to know how to talk, but they're pretty much like goblins in any RPG game.
Gizelope (Giz-el-ope)
Odd headed people that always have the names of baked goods.
Aelector (Ei-lek-tor)
Single-eyed people with mouths on their stomachs. They have ridiculously common names.
Aster (Ass-tir)
The generic demon race, nothing particularly special.
OC Example - Azamazo Sinvictus
Taiku (Tai-koo)
Okay, so take furries and scalies and whatever, but give them magical crystal skeletons, as well as single crystal horns that stick out of their bodies.
Azerar (Az-er-ar)
Back in the day, this was my attempt at an original furry species, like how protogens are for example.
OC Example - Alexandrite (Geez this one's old enough that I didn't even know non-pixel digital art yet)
Andochlor (And-oh-klor)
Creatures that are very plantlike and always have colorful petals on their head. Inspired by an old art I made in which I fused Flowey and Sans from undertale.
Inspiration - Sans + Flowey Fusion
Zerocops (Zee-roh-kops)
Sentient machines with metal tentacle arms. No one, not even they, know where they came from.
OC Example - Cephalo (This is by far the oldest art here)
Sinthera (Sin-thair-uh)
Tall and skinny mummies, but the wrappings on them is their bodies, and there's nothing underneath. Heavy inspiration from Slenderman.
(No OC examples)
L.A.I.R. (Lair)
Liquid AI robots that are nearly extinct, save for like, one.
Extol (Ex-tol)
A parasite that causes the infected to take on a cracked-glass-like appearance. Not to mention the black tendrils seeping out of every part of their body.
(No OC examples)
Nipop (Nee-pop)
Little axolotl-like guys that are cute and don't do much.
OC Example - Suni (This art was made under a pen name I had)
Temporian (Tem-por-ian)
One day, someone failed to operate a time machine, and a bunch of these came out of nowhere with no memories. They're stretchy and can spin things really fast. Heavily inspired by Steven Universe gems.
(No OC Examples)
ASCOS (Ask-Oh-Ess)
When some scientists wanted to create their own matrix and simulate a planet, they didn't plan on their simulated subjects evolving so fast that they ascend outside of the simulation and manifest in the real world as complex holographic entities with vast intelligence. Heavy inspiration from Motherboard from Cyberchase, hell yeah that show rocked as a kid.
(No OC Examples)

And that's all for now! I've got a lot of other OCs with races that aren't covered here, but I just wanted to show a little part of what I really love working on in worldbuilding. I hope this can inspire some others to get creative with their own OCs, maybe build a world around them, think up some wacky cool fantasy or sci-fi races, etc. And if you actually read all of this, thanks for doing so, it really means a lot to know that people can become invested into and enjoy my autistic infodumping lol.

Y'know, working on a TTRPG sounds kinda fun, actually
