When a Crabulon invasion force assaults a planet one of the most formidable and most plentiful of the armed guard are the Bipods.

Though they may look like a robot a Bipod is a living organism. When a Crabulon is assigned at a young age to what branch of servitude they'll live in the more hardy ones are picked for augmentation and mutilation. Walkers and Bipods are a few of the types of results from this branch, their bodies are broken and bent and broken and bent repeatedly into new shapes and formations, a Bipod has their limbs stretched to such lengths that a once one-meter tall Crabulon grunt now stands twenty meters high. They're outfitted with inner augments that strengthen their muscles to suit their new body size and requirements, this makes them stronger in combat as well.

Like all Crabulon soldiers they have laser weaponry outfitted inside their claw tissue, a Bipod has a lot stronger firepower than a regular Grunt does however since they can take emitting blasts that would ordinarily throw a regular Grunt backwards. Some units (one seen here) are outfitted with a pack of three metal claws which are used for further destruction, in an invasion or abduction scenario they can be used to capture and sustain victims who will be taken into prison.

A fun fact; In the reigning era of Emperor Wrack the Bipods were originally Tripods, it has been said the late Emperor had a strange fascination with the number 3 which is why it is such a prevalent thing in the mechanics and culture of the Empire. Crabulons are born with two feet though, obviously, the third leg was always made cybernetically or surgically grafted off of the legs of a Bipod convert who proved too weak and died. The Tripods were terribly unbalanced though and could never seem to properly get accustomed to having a third leg added and learning how to walk again with the crutch so begrudgingly after a few centuries Wrack decided to just stick with two.

This is a photo of the Invasion of Hermite around 3200 AAF. The Hermites were an unfortunate enough species to live near the Crabulon space and were a peaceful race. The Hermite people had no army and almost no weaponry to speak of so when the Crabulon Empire reached their world and invaded it was like shooting crabs in a barrel. They were round up and forced into servitude.
Don't worry the Hermites were liberated around 4600 AAF so they're free and happy again now.
