When you try going out to see your girl during the occupation but you forget you're French and she's German.
Another pic of my OC Roza. Still not exactly sure what her personality is, so who knows? Maybe she's the cute-but-kind-of-crazy-scary type of girl.
I think this is the first time I've every drawn a character riding a bike, but I think it came out all right. I drew it free hand this time around, avoiding use of my usual photomanipulation technique this time. The wonkiest part is probably the chain. I could've spent more time on it, but I've been allowing myself to try and not get to bogged down on one piece of art at a time and any failures I make I'll just work on in the next piece. I heard it said a little while ago the biggest barrier to learning is the fear of failure. So, even if I draw something and post it and it looks shitty, well, it'll just look kind of shitty and I'll have to do better next time :P
Shotgun was based off the old Winchester Model 1897 (more colloquially know as the Trench Gun). Removed the venting on the barrel, striking hammer, and bayonet lug to streamline the design:
Got the idea to draw my soldier girl on a bike from those old pics of World War 1 bike soldiers. They rode bikes that had guns mounted like so:
The design I went with is a combo of the bike above and the one below. I went with the downward curving handlebars because I like the racing bike aesthetic a little more.
