It is no doubt that we all know about Winnie-the-Pooh, even if some of us haven't grew up with him. This anthropomorphic teddy bear was famously known around the world as a beloved childhood icon ever since he first appeared in his own set of children's books written by A.A. Milne and illustrated by E.H. Shepard, which The Walt Disney Company acquired the exclusive rights to in 1961 and adapted into their own media franchise. However, I doubt anyone would look at him the same way again after the original 1926 book's passage to the public domain in the United States in 2022 led to someone having the chance to give Pooh his very own slasher movie.
So, to help remind people of the original wholesome and light-hearted stories we all still know and love, I decided to make a picture of Winnie-the-Pooh riding a red balloon, in the style of the Disney version we are all familiar with. I also decided to do the artwork in the similar style of the book illustrations provided by Shepard, with the outlines being hand-drawn instead of being traced from a pencil sketch with Inkscape's Bezier tool. After completing the watercolour-styled artwork, I went onto GIMP and used both the Smudge and Blemish Fix tools to get rid of the noticeable seams.
