The princess stepped into the light.
"On my coronation day, the day after I buried my father, Ganondorf bestowed on me this in place of the queen's crown. He believes it to be a reminder of what is lost - of when I failed. But it is more than that. It is a reminder of what evil can do. It is a reminder of what I will sacrifice to my kingdom. It is a reminder to be stronger, to do better. And when I sit on the throne once more, and Ganondorf is forever banished from this land, it will be a reminder of how far I have come. On that day, there will be no need for a crown. On that day, this will be a reminder that I am queen."
As the boy in green stared into her fierce eyes, the mark on his hand began to sting. He was in no danger, but he remembered the sensation of fear.
