A medieval knight investigates the ruins of the legendary Camelot deep in the English forest, learning it was built by a completely different culture from what he expected.
This was inspired by various old adventure stories by the likes of Edgar Rice Burroughs and H. Rider Haggard, which placed lost "Caucasian" colonies deep in Africa. The subtext was always that the native Africans were naturally too stupid and subhuman to build these monumental civilizations, which needless to say was rooted in the times' prevailing ideology of racist imperialism. I wanted to turn that trope on its head by having a lost African civilization colonize Britain in distant antiquity, thus giving rise to the legend of Camelot. The architecture of the ruins here is based off Great Zimbabwe.
